Lavelle, chairman. Under the new law, each county clerk will carry primary responsibility for ad ministrative duties relating to campaign disclosure material filed by local candidates as well as local political committees. Lavelle pointed out that the training seminars were held in six different locations in the state for the convenience of the county clerks and that sessions were conducted by State Board staff members. "In addition," Lavelle said, "since the policy of the state board is to work on a close, continuing basis with election authorities, we are providing an active field staff for on-going liaison with each clerk providing state-wide assistance as the need arises." The training seminars were conducted at Northern Illinois university in DeKalb, Illinois State University in Normal and Western Illinois university in Macomb, Eastern Illinois university in Charleston, Southern Illinois university in Carbondale and Southern Illinois university in Ed- wardsville.
