He was later transferred to Rock- ford Memorial hospital. It may be rare but it's re freshing to see an automo bile driver exhibiting cour tesy and good manners while behind the wheel. AAUSIN" AND MEANDERIN" (Continued from page 1) lists herself as one of our readers wants something, too, ev§n if it arrives after the new year. This is the way she puts her letter to Santa: "Here I sit waiting for a repairman who never shows up. It's not the first time, Santa, not by a long shot! "I moved here from the big city twenty years ago and I truly love this town of McHenry. The sales clerks are friendly and helpful; in fact, TOM HUEMANN 385-3093 WATER CONDITIONERS it's a friendly town-the people really care "All except the repairmen, Santa. After three or four phone calls they finally promise to come and even name the day and time. Here I sit, wallet in hand, joyfully anticipating getting the problem fixed. "'A whole day wasted, anxiously hovering over the phone and hopefully peering out the window. "Now I don't demand im mediate service, Santa. I'm even willing to wait in line for a week or two until my turn comes. But I do get weary of pleading for a service call. and. FORMAL WEAR RENTAL tor ALL OCCASIONS ksu&mE ....At 1214 N. Green St., McHenry even worse, broken promises. If they would only call and explain the delay I would eagerly forgive them. But dear Santa, no phone calls, no work, no appearance at the appointed hour. "Please, please, Santa, help repairmen to be men of their word. That's the best present I could have. The whole town would be grateful. Or am I the only frustrated home owner"? "We've known some great repair people in McHenry, and then we've also known some like the writer talks about. "In the spirit of '75, Santa, turn over a new leaf in the service book of the tardy." If Santa will only comply with these post-holiday wishes, McHenry folks have a good thing going for them in the new year. K.A.F.
