Its pathway has been strewn with some failures, but also with many successes. Its ac­ complishments were not achieved by worldly wisdom and human ingenuity, but by the wisdom of God and the power of the 'Holy Ghost." These were the words of leaders of the Island Lake Church of God this week. The beginning of the Church of God was small. When it was officially organized only eight persons presented themselves for membership. Today it has 10,002 ministers; 9,555 chur­ ches; 710,163 members; and many attending constituents in ninety-eight countries and territories around the world. In the last two years it gained 486 ministers, 737 churches, and 75,456 members. By faith the Church of God of Island Lake, with headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn., began church services Sept. 8,1974, in the Island Lake grade school as a temporary meeting place. The Island Lake grade school is on Greenleaf avenue at Fair­ field drive in. Island Lake. The Church of God of Island Lake had its official organization service with the Rev. Rescue Squad Sponsors First Aid Classes An effort is being made to enroll the general public in first aid classes for their own benefit. This effort is being sponsored by the Lake Region Rescue Squad. If the enrollment is large enough, the classes will be held at the Island Lake grade school. These, of course, will be evening classes. The most recurrent and seemingly most valid reason is that people today do too much talking and not enough listening. To close the gap people must learn to listen properly. To understand the point of view of another person without injecting individual bias is a difficult task. It requires practise.
