It is against the law to let your dogs wander onto other people's property and certain measures can be taken that would not be very pleasant. To avoid this may I suggest you contain your dogs within your own property limits. Be con siderate of your neighbors. HOUSE OFF LIMITS Just recently I have received more reports of children in our area walking through vacant B K.T. houses on the way up to Hilltop school. Please warn your children to stay away from them. Serious accidents could arise if they fail to take this warning. There are dangerous pipes as well as deep holes and broken glass. Once again, parents, please alert your children!! FUN FAIR Hilltop's annual Fun Fair took place this Saturday, Feb. 1, and was a big success. Inga Gramer and Terri Melone helped out at the Fun Fair. Terri worked in the Cake Walk sale, and Inga had a game booth next to her good friend, Sandy Hunt, also from East wood Manor. The Walshes also attended the Fun Fair--Karen, mother of Michael and Mary Irene. Three of the four Melone children came along with Mom. They are Dawn, Michelle and Tony. Holland and Rodney Hunt and their father, Roger Hunt, also attended the outing, along with Deiter and Eric Gramer. BUS STOPS Parents are requested once again to please tell your children to be careful at our 385-5705 local bus stops. Please keep reminding them until it sinks in. ' 1 „ SECOND CUP OF COFFEE Wednesday, Feb. 5, East wood Manor residents were invited to attend a Second-Cup- Of-Coffee (Hilltop school meeting) hosted by Mrs. Sandra Freels, secretary of HP.TO. The coffee started at 9:30 a.m. and lasted until 11:30 a.m. Regardless of weather con ditions approximately fifteen people were able to attend the coffee. Some of the familiar faces were Debbie Hoffmann, Ginny Howard, Terri Melone, Karen Walsh, Janet Dowe and of course John Nilles, Hilltop's principal. The principal from Parkland, Mr. Toole, also at tended the meeting and really contributed to the conversation on the subject matter that was discussed. The first discussion was on Art. Secondly, a good deal of time was spent on the grading system, "the report card." The large majority of people who were at the meeting and others with whom I communicate who were unable to attend the meeting are in agreement they do not favor the grading system and wish it would be changed. Perhaps it will some day. You might be happy to know other schools have in the past had eight-page report cards. Mr. Nilles asked that parents who have children eligible for the screening program, please notify the school. They will be happy to answer all questions. Please do so today, without delay. Also, parents are invited to call Hilltop at any time to request any information having to do with their child's education. All in all, the coffee went rather nicely, with a very lovely hostess, Mrs. Sandra Freels. TRAGEDY STRIKES Just recently tragedy struck one of our Hilltop families. A fire destroyed the home and most of the possessions of the Burton family of Lakemoor. Neighbors have already started a drive to aid the family. If you have clothing, food, fur nishings, or even know of a place for them to live, please contact Mrs. Garbacz, Mrs. Skeleton or Mrs. Schmidt. HOMEOWNERS Please read my next column for details as to the date, time and place of our next meeting. All residents are more than welcome to join.
