This group of eager mothers meet twice a., month in the cafeteria at Harrison school from 10 a.m. to ^bout 10:30 a.m. Their aim is to learn more about their children and also to give their young children a chance to associate with other children their own age. Interesting programs are presented Some of their speakers have included Heather Wolf from SEDOM, Pat Frechette, who spoke on children's books, arid Mary , Huggero, R.N., who talked about children's health, im­ munizations, etc. An eye specialist. Dr. Koresch. will speak at the Feb. 19 meeting about caring for children's eyes. Denis Morimoto, Harrison school social worker, will present a program on hyperactive children at the March 5 meeting. While the mothers become more informed about their most important career of motherhood, their preschool youngsters socialize with other children under the careful supervision of seventh and eighth grade Harrison students. CUB SCOUT AWARDS Cub Scout Pack 145's meeting was held at Nativity Lutheran church; Awards were presented to the following Cub Scouts for Bobcat: Den 3 - (Sharon Peters, Den mother) - Chris Corsaut, Danny Diedrick, Donald Karolewicz and Steven Bryan; Den 4 * CTrudie Gohl, Den mother) Lee Lomax, Kevin Moore and Mike Polka; Den 6 - (Angela Gonzales, Den mother) Roger Gonzales, Scott Bujak, Ricky Taylor and David Vargas. The date for their annual bazaar has been set for May 3 and handmade quilts are being worked on by the members. President Marie Robinson and her group are looking ahead to spring and good weather when they will resume their travels to interesting spots in the area. Possible journeys this year will take them to the Sears Tower, the Quaker Oats company and they are also planning a lun­ cheon and theater date at Shady Lane. ENTERTAINS AT PARTY Jamie Dass, son of Ted and Joy Dass, entertained a group of his kindergarten friends at his home in Wooded Shores Monday, Feb. 3, to celebrate his sixth birthday. Many of the usual party games were played and prizes given out, but a Dass family tradition was carried on with the opening of Jack Horner's pie, An antique wooden cheese box brought from Denmark by Jamie's great grandparents formed the base of the "pie" which was the table centerpiece. The box was covered with crepe paper and ribbons reached out through tiny holes to each child's place. When it was time for Jack Horner to "pull out his plum" everyone pulled a ribbon and found to their delight - a toy on the other end! Instead of having a big cake with six candles, each guest had a most interesting time decorating his own cup cake with frosting, chocolate pieces, sprinkles, colored sugar; whipped cream and a candle on top, which he blew out as the birthday song was sung to Jamie. The happy little party-goers included Candy Marie Bar- thuly, Amy Coughlin, David Harney, Rene Ruzicka, Brian Wright, Joy Wright, Pat Huff, Richard Sullivan, Rae Ricki Parker, Susan Maris and Jimmy Stauffer.
