Gary has won two varsity letters. Robert Murray won first place in the Indian Trails Wisconsin conference for wrestlers held at Northwest Military Academy, Font^na, Wis. Warriors Face Doubleheader In Weekend Play By Dick Rabbitt The "Fighting Warriors" of Coach Ken Ludwig are engaged in another crucial North Suburban doubleheader this weekend. Tonight the Warriors journey to Barrington to take on the improving Broncos of Coach Bruce Stahmer Barrington is currently on a two game win streak, their longest of the season, having defeated both Dundee and Lake Forest over the past two weeks. Coach Stahmer feels that the Broncos are a much improved club since they lost to the Warriors back on Jan. 18 by a score of 78 to 39. Senior forward John Tichy has been blistering the net at a 25 point average since Tom Stark held him to a mere 12 points the last time the two teams met. The Warriors will have their work cut out for them in the Barrington fieldhouse, but I think they will arise to the occasion and come home with a victory. On Saturday night the Warriors host the Dundee Cardunals. Last year's co- champs along with the ZeeBees, the Cards haven't got untracked all season. In an earlier game they put a scare into the Warriors before going down to defeat 72 to 66. One must remember, however, that besides the Cardunal gym, the Crystal Lake Fieldhouse is the most troublesome arena that the Warriors perform in year in and year out. Cardunal center Max Kipfer, hobbling on a bad knee will be expected to go against the Warriors. In the last game the big 6'6" center poured in 27 points. However, playing in the friendly confines of Buckner gym, we expect the Warriors to notch number 19 of the season and Coach Ken Ludwig's 100th win of his McHenry high school coaching career. On Friday night they defeated the Crystal Lake sophs by a score of 52 to 40, and on Saturday night at Woodstock they lost 57 to 45. Against the Tigers on Friday night, playing perhaps their finest game of the season, the young Warriors after a slow start edged ahead, and won going away by the score of 52 to 40. The Tigers playing without their ace, Bennett, who was promoted to the varsity, couldn't seem to get untracked under the assault of the Warriors after the early minutes of the game. A1 Reinboldt, improving with each game, led the young Warriors with 15 points. Lost To Streaks On Saturday night in Woodstock it was a different story. Trailing 20 to 4 at the quarter and 37 to 10 at the half, the locals couldn't close the gap against a tall, talented Woodstock five. The McHenry Junior Youth League will hold its registration on Saturday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. 22, at the V.F.W. hall between the hours of noon and 4 p.m. All boys must be registered by an adult. The league is open to all boys between the ages of 8 and 12, born between Aug. 1.1963 and July 31, 1967. Any boy coming into the league for the first time must bring his birth certificate with him.
