Coming to more recent committee reports, we came to fund raising which is headed by our Federation treasurer. Bill Biedermann. Bill explained that our first idea of selling seeds for vegetables and flowers would start right after the meeting. We were to pick tyem up after the meeting and take them back to our clubs to sell Also, there will be prizes for the top five clubs and ten individuals in the county. Our second idea will come into effect at our county wide Share-the-Fun March 7 and 8 We will have a slave auction, in which 4-H'ers will be sold to the highest bidder The 4-H'er bought, has the responsibility to fulfill an eight-hour work day to his buyer. If you would like to have someone who can do that job your w ife has been after you to do for the last six months, and also help out the Federation at the same time, come. The slave auction will be Saturday, March 8, after the skits for Share-the-Fun at Woodstock high school. Planning for the future was preparing for the annual roller skating party sponsored by the McHenry County Federation April 16 and 17. New Business brought to mind plans for the summer, State 4-H Club week and state Junior Leadership conference. It was discussed but nothing really very definite was set. March 17 will be our next Federation meeting. After the meeting was ajourned, we had a very in teresting speaker on Jamaica. He was Jim Schmidt from Carrollton, III Jim spent six months in Jamaica with the International Farm Youth Exchange program living with host families, working with farmers, and visiting such places as sugar plantations, rum distilleries, factories and schools. At our next meeting we hope to have a magician show, so if you are a 4-H member, leader, or parent interested in getting your child into 4-H, this would be a great place to start. One of our Extension advisers will be there to answer any questions you might have.
