PAGE 8 - PLAINDEALER-WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 1975 Eastwood Manor 385-5705 Home Owners Plan Easter Egg Hunt March 29 The Easter Egg Hunt is on for sure, thanks to Mr. Niles our own Hilltop principal. It will take place the Saturday before Easter, at Hilltop on the grounds outside, March 29, at 2 p.m. I need volunteers to color a dozen eggs and have them by my house the day before, Friday! I want new volunteers not always the same people. This is our first event since the new homeowner's association started so let's make it a big success. The children who will attend will be charged a small fee to participate in the Easter Egg hunt. That way we can build up the association ac count a little at least. Prizes will be given away to the children in different age groups who gather the most eggs. Please mark this day down and plan on attending, the more the better, it will only last an hour at the very most. E.M.P.O A. First of all I would like to say the people in the subdivision who canvassed the area this past week did a really terrific job and I'm very proud of them. Our main concern was with the objection of the gravel pit on Chapel Hill Road and for the most part everyone who was home signed the petition. Today "at least four of our residents will attend the meeting to voice our objection, which in total had 74 names on it. Ginny Howard, Mr. Barr, Sandy Hunt, Terri Melone, Inga Grammer, Debbie Hoffmann, Pat Marrack, Karen Walsh, and myself were the people in our area who called upon you for your help in signing the petitions. Shortly I will follow through with the petition of making Eastwood and Manor a three point stop, and also having signs for children at play posted on the corner. Then I will also straighten out the fire hydrants in the area which are not working properly, at least I'll do the best I can, and with many residents in agreement it should be taken care of. Then after that or probably while all of those things are still going on I will be working on an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in our subidvision, I'm open to any and all suggestions and help from Eastwood Manor residents. Also hopefully, each time a project comes up, dif ferent people will take turns instead of always the same ones, that just isn't fair. -/ A lot of the residents had different ideas as my people canvassed the area, on what should be done in our sub division, may I suggest that you all attend our next meeting and you shall be heard then and we'll see what we can do about different situations as a group, but we need more members, and active ones, behind us to make us strong the way I feel and would like us to be. Enough of E.M.P.O.A. for this week at least! JAYCEE'S WOMEN'S AUXILIARY Please remember Terri Melone from our subdivision will be selling tickets for lunch with the Easter Bunny on Palm Sunday, March 23. The menu will consist of hamburgers and potato chips. The Jaycee's need our support! NEW BABY , Roy Blake, Jr., arrived on Feb. 1, weighing 8 lbs., 4 oz., at the McHenry hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blake of Lincoln Road in Eastwood Manor are the proud parents. NEW RESIDENTS There are three new families in our subdivision, they are Peggy Gerrard, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Key, and the Frank Scheibs. I would like to extend a hardy welcome from the other residents and hope you enjoy our neigh borhood as much as we do. PAPER DRIVE Dickie Hawkins was involved in a paper drive from Parkland school that took place this past Saturday at the Market Place in town, I sincerely hope all went well for you and the other children as well. There have been two garbage cans found in the area of Fairview Lane with the initials R.M.E. sprayed on them with paint. There are no lids that go along with them. These two cans were blown onto this property in this particular area on that very windy day a short while back. Please contact me if you are missing these two garbage cans and I will tell you where you can pick them up. j r f r LUNCHEON FOR HILLTOP TEACHERS On March 20, there will be a luncheon for the teachers, right now it is in the process of getting organized. They need volunteers for different things such as contributing rolls and butter, putting money towards a ham that will be served that day, fruit salads (jello), as well as vegetable and potato salads and for desserts, homemade pies. Please call me if you are interested and tell your neigh bors in your immediate area that we need their help. You have to mark your dishes and pick them up the same day. Forty, teachers and some helpers will attend this lun cheon on March 20, the same day that the teacher's con ferences will take place. They have to be delivered to the school by Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. If you have any questions on this event either call Mrs. W. Kane at 385-7760 or myself and we will be happy to answer them for vou. BROWNIES Recently Wendy Howard HORHSBYS ^ family centers -- DuRmt's per gal.
