PAGE 14 - PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1975 SERVICES top of the The hill spreads out in front of them, stretching up and up; they can't see over the top. There may be clouds in the distance; but just now they are oblivious to them. They are together, and for the moment, that is all that matters. Togetherness, the mood, the romance it evokes, are a part of life. But so is that uphill winding road. Traveling through life, you often can't see over the top. You can only give each step along the way the best that is in you. Fortunately, this is a journey that none of us has to make alone. Your Creator is reaching out to you and the doors of His Church are forever open. If you haven't passed through those doors for a long time, or if you have never passed through them at all, give it a try next Sunday! You will not be alone, and a new perspective may be yours. Some fourteen ladies were in at tendance and a good time was had by all. The next card party will be held one week following the regular Shoreline meeting. Due to the village elections the regular Shoreline meeting scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month will be one week later, on April 22 and the card party, April 29. The location of the next card party will be decided at the April 22 business meeting. Mrs. Alice Lawson, chairman for the card parties would like to see even more ladies show up and if you have any questions, please contact Alice. COMMENT CORNER We have just one birthday reported to us, that of John Borchart. John celebrated his birthday March 31.' Our congratulations. In our last column I failed to mention that Mrs. Maryann Zutaut gave of her time to help the village clerk sell vehicle stickers. BOARD MEETING At the regular Board of Trustees meeting held March 27 at the village hall, bills were presented and approved in the General fund in the amount of $224,43. Treasurer Lillegard informed the board that the county is considering what is known as "Loss and cost" fees. This fee is a charge to the municipality for extending and collecting taxes on the yearly tax bills. A communication from Illinois Bell Telephone requesting permission to go under Hilltop road in ap proximately five locations was referred for additional in formation. Bids were open and read for the purchasing of a new fequad car. Six bids were received ranging from $3,651.37 to $4,117.96. Due to the complexity of the bids they were referred to a committee comprised of Trustee Clarence Schweikert, Trustee Sandra Moyer and President Bieritz. A request from McHenry County Department of Health asking for .75 per capita assessment toward a central animal shelter was rejected by the board. An amendment to the building codes was passed. This amendment pertains to the building permit fee. An additional proposed or dinance for the fines for overweight vehicle was presented for consideration at the next meeting. Clerk Lillegard explained to the board the possibility of securing four men from manpower from the county to work on ;(the roads. This program is a part of a Federal grant received by the county. The Board passed a motion to the effect to finalize com mitment to the county for the four men for three weeks, Ihe last week of May and the first and second "week of June pending insurant and the possibility of maintaining the one man from the crew for as long as possible. The village's responsibility is to supply the supervision. Chairman- of the Parks and Public Buildings committee, Mr. Henderlong, presented figures for the sea wall at the channel and the pier replacements. The sea wall would be on the east side only approximately 180'. The total cost would be $6,275 including the piers and the gravel behind the sea wall. This would average out to about $800 per pier and each pier having two slots bringing the cost to $400 per boat slot. Barry McCauley of Clark Outdoor Spraying Company explained to the board his program for mosquito abatement. The proposed cost would range from $817.50 to $1,038.75 depending on how wet the summer months are. The meeting adjourned at 10:40 p.m. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN As the writer of this column I have not covered the public hearing on the Comprehensive plan nor given any data in this column other than the date of the hearing because I have felt it could be construed as a bias opinion. In regards to the coverage that appeared on the front, page my answer can be found in the Public Pulse in today's paper.
