Engeln informs the Plaindealer that he now has on hand a limited amount ' of pheasant eggs which he is distributing. Mr. and Mrs. James Halpin have returned to McHenry and have taken up their abode in the N.J. Nye cottage in the Stenger, Owen, Allen subdivision in Fox - r iver near the golf course. A ground space, 100 x 100, located just south of the new Community high school building has been plowed up and graded and is now being finished up for one of a double tennis court. I larrv H. Fay. for a number of years ' local agent for the Standard Oil company, has taken up his new position as local manager of the Elgin Imbricating Oil company. Dr. F.J. Aicher is having a cement garage built to the north end of his house on Waukegan road. The basement of the home is to be used in i ts construction. The Richmond Gazette has entered volume 49 and under the ownership and editorship of H.B Baston the paper is prospering. Mr. Gaston is an able newspaper man and is Hiving the community he serves ajiery newsy paper. F( )RTY YEARS AGO "Taken from the files of April 18. 1935) A meeting of the high school superintendents of McHenry county was held at McHenry community high school Tuesday. Following a 6:30 o'clock dinner served by Miss May Justen and her cooking class, the evening was devoted to discussions of county school problems and plans for another year. Mary Terese, 8 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Barbian, died Monday morning after a brief i l lness of bronchial pneumonia. Mrs. Clarence Draper and son. Joe. and her daugher and . husband. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Campbell, and lit t le daughter arrived home Saturday from a seven weeks trip and visit with relatives at San Jose. Calif. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith was baptised Delores Ann at St. Mary's church Sunday, f Sponsors were Mrs. Stephen N. t > Schmitt and Hubert 'Smith. The Earl McAndrews family moved last week from the flat in the N.J. Justen building on Main street to the Mrs. J . McAndrews farm which they took over March l . A funeral Mass was sung Wednesday in Our Lady of the Mount church, Cicero, for Mrs. Frank (Frances) Hnilo, Lake Shore drive. Wonder Lake. She died April 16 while vacationing with tier husband in Arizona. Timothy Lively,of McHenry Heating and Air Conditioning has been attending an air conditioning school Janice Sturm was first prize winner in the 1965 essay contest conducted • among local high school students by the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.
