Evidence Of Spring In Flower-Plant Sale Spring will be in evidence at the Flower and Plant booth at Fair Diddley, which will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, on the Woodstock Square. Many plants have been donated by area gardeners. Those who have plant starts or plant containers to donate may call Mrs. John M. (Carol) Johnson, High street, McHenry. In addition to indoor and outdoor plants, the booth will offer fresh flower arrangements. Community support has been the key to the success of Fair Diddley in the past. Many booths require donations from interested persons to help them. One of the features of the fair that is particularly appealing to the younger set is the area set aside for games and rides. Karen Smiejek of Crystal Lake is in charge of games. For pre­ schoolers there will be three fecial games. At the Fish pond, poles will be used to catch a fish to win a prize. In the Duck pond, plastic ducks are picked with the number on the bottom determining the prize. The third game will be a Lollipop tree, where special markings on the lollipops will show what prize has been won. Seven games are being of­ fered for the enjoyment of older children. There will be two varieties of tic-tac-toe. Dart boards and ball throws will test skills. The sponge throw, a popular game last year, will be repeated. A new game will have the players pick a writing pen. The color of the ink in the pen-red, green, or blue-will determine the prize. Miniature rides for younger children have been arranged for by Esther Perez of Wood­ stock. A small ferris wheel, a train and a merry-go-round will add to the pleasure of the youngsters. Fair Diddley is sponsored by the Women's auxiliary of the Family Service and Mental Health Clinic for McHenry County. This is the largest effort of the auxiliary each year to help raise funds for the clinic. Model At Fashion Show Judy Batdorff, a freshman at East campus, models her denim kerchief-printed bib- front skirt and coordinating shirt. The Home Economics clothing classes from both East and West campuses joined together Friday, May 2, for their annual fashion show.
