The heating and ventilating Art Fair Chairman Greta Martin and Poster Designer John Greene look over this year's "gremlin", which will be appearing soon. It is the symbol of the McHenry Country Art Fair. The final phases of the planning for the nineteenth annual McHenry Country Art Fair are being drawn up. With many artists already registered, those artists and photographers who are not, are reminded of the June 1 entry deadline. Teachers are once again encouraged to contact Mrs. Marie J. This annual showplace for McHenry county artists will again be held at Parkland school in McHenry. A theme of the American West will per- vail. With the reeent change in location, comes the benefit of both a larger area and a better display background for a show of this caliber. The committee has expanded the show to bring the public one of the best displays of art work and photography in northern Illinois. Dates of the show are June 20, 21 and 22, with a special patrons' viewing held June 18. It is expected the total cost will be around $165,000. Gearing of the land has begun. Formal ground breaking ceremonies will be announced later. Dhne Alvary Earns Degree, Oberlln College Oberline college, Oberline, Ohio, conferred 524 degrees at the college's 142nd anniversary commencement exercise Sunday. One of the graduates was Diane Alvary, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George Alvary, 602 N. Green street, McHenry, B.A. degree with a major in Psychology. Harvey Cox, theologian and author and a faculty member at the Harvard Divinity school, delivered the commencement address to an audience of some 2,500 people, including graduating seniors, their families, and reunioning alumni. Oberlin's president, Emil Charles Danenberg who had been installed the previous afternoon, then presented the degrees to 502 candidates. Archeologists have recently discovered bits of high quality steel in their diggings in Greece, and wonder who the ancients were able to produce it.
