CYCLE MISHAP BRINGS INJURIES TO DRIVER (Continued from page I) Neal F. Street of Fontana, Wis.„ following a collision at the corner of Green and Main streets last Thursday evening. Street told police he was south-bound on Green street when he heard a loud screeching noise. He turned and saw the trailer of his truck had come loose and w&s resting against a car driven by Karen E. Lescher of 1711 .Woodlawn Park, McHenry. Ms. Lescher said she felt a jolt to her auto and when she turned, saw the trailer was up against her auto. Michael Coker of 4104 N. Pioneer avenue, Chicago, was cited by city police for failure to reduce speed to avoid an ac cident following a rear-end collision last Thursday evening at 4213 W. Route 120. A car driven by Carole A. Acred of 331 W. Northlake, McHenry, was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn when her car was hit from behind. Coker said he applied his brakes when he saw her stop but was unable to avoid impact. MEN HOLD GUN ON PATRONS OF CITY LOUNGE (Continued from page 1) premises at the time of the incident. When squads arrived at the scene, they learned two men had allegedly entered the tavern with guns in their possession and wanted to know who had stolen their motor cycle. The crowd reportedly moved outside the premises where a fight broke out. One of the men was said to have taken out his gun and told everyone in the crowd to back up. When someone mentioned the police had been called, the crowd dispersed and the two unidentified men with guns fled the scene in an unknown type of vehicle. They were not located nor were any arrests made. ACCEPT SCHOOL ATHLETIC CODE (Continued from page 1) the matter would probably not come up for review again. The vote followed and the a d m i n i s t r a t i o n r e c o m mendation calling for discipline during the summer season is in effect. Principals' reports and remarks by the East campus dean of girls and of boys, provided information for the board during the instructional portion of the program. Vern Peterson, dean of boys, noted that there had been little trouble with drugs the first three-quarters of this year. "Then something happened", he said, "and we're trying to discover the cause. He ob served that it is costly to parent when students are in violation as it is required that they seek outside counseling for a period of ten days. Mary Ann Hauge, dean of girls, said positive things are happening at East. She pointed, specifically, to the recent radio- sponsored school spirit com petition won by the students. Miss Hauge said it seemed to bring the young people closer together for having suc cessfully achieved their goal. East Campus Principal Gary Fields expounded on the fact that drugs are a problem. He added that a high school student can obtain a marijuana cigarette as easily as he can buy a can of beer. A contract was approved for City Wide Carpet to supply carpeting in the amount of $172.40. Meyer said it will be cheaper in the long run to handle clean up days in this manner con sidering the cost of gasoline, finidng a place to dump the loads, salaries of the men and the number of trips city trucks would have to make to unload. The Council passed an ap propriation ordinance for the fiscal year 1975-76 in the amount of $3,169,115. Last year $2,839,620 was appropriated. It was explained by Auditor Bill North that adoption of the appropriation ordinance does not mean all of this money must be expended. However, no money can be spent from city funds unless it has been ap propriated for in various categories.
