BIRTHDAY SURPRISE On June 18, 1/ was eating supper with my husband and in the back door walked my daughter, Cherie, her husband, Dick, and boys, Steve, Chris and Scott. They came to sur­ prise me on my birthday with a cake that Cherie had made. Later in the evening, my son, Dutch, his wife, Nancy, and daughters, Bobbie and Tracy, came to spend time with us and also enjoyed some cake and ice cream. THINK PINK That is what Herb and Linda Zabroski must have been doing as they welcomed their first bom, a daughter, who was born June 26 at Great Lakes hospital. She weighed 8 lbs., 2 oz., and was named Lisa Lynn. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Montelone of Wonder Lake and her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Stan Zabroski. The Zabroskis reside in Lakemoor. Congratulations to all con­ cerned by Lisa's birth. May she bring all of you much hap­ piness. MORE ON HEARTWORM The William Sinklers have had their dogs tested and found that none of them have heart- worm. Our own dog Candy is un­ dergoing treatment now as 1 am putting this column together. Mr. Lauren Messersmith, former pastor of the Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ, Lake Villa, will be guest minister at the United Methodist church of McHenry Sunday, July 6. The Messersmiths came to the Millburn church in October, 1942. He retired as pastor Sept. 30, 1973, after a pastorate of thirty-one years. Since/etiring Mr. Messersmith has served as interim pastor of the Cam­ bridge, Nebr., United Church of Christ for six months. From October 1, 1974, until Jan. 1, 1975, he was interim pastor of the United Church of Christ at Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii. Since Sunday is the Fourth of July weekend, Mr. Messer­ smith will speak on the subject, "Freedom to Become." The Messersmiths now live in Leisure Village, Fox Lake. Set Topics For Respiratory Club Meeting July 8 "Social Security Disability Provisions" and "Medicare for the Disabled" will be topics for discussion Tuesday, July 8, at the 7:30 p.m. meeting of the Respiratory club, sponsored jointly by the DuPage- McHenry Lung association and Memorial Hospital for McHenry County in Woodstock. Open to anyone with em­ physema, asthma, chronic bronchitis or any other breathing ailment, the club will meet in the hospital's lower level conference room. Van Fleet of 2501 Martin road, McHenry, was trained in special handling and storage of air freight.
