Daily Vacation Bible School At McHenry Church There's no mistaking the anticipation in the eyes of these children as they look over some of the crafts that they will be doing as part of Daily Vacation Bible school. Some of the highlights are various field trips, a play by the McHenry County college called "Space Harp" on Friday, Aug. 1, as well as a very special surprise closing program Friday, Aug. 8, to which all the parents are invited. This year Shepherd of the Hills church, 404 North Green street, has hopes of topping the 200 mark in their Bible school that is held week days starting July 28 through Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Parents need not be a member of the church to enroll their children in what promises to be the best year ever. Lakemoor-Lilymoor Alma Hueckstaedt 385-5689 Set August 25 For Referendum On Sewer Project To residents of Lakemoor - On August 23, there will be a referendum vote for the sewers in Lakemoor. This is a very important date for all residents, so be sure to mark your calendar. PARENTS FOR YOUTH Permission was obtained for the Parents for Youth to erect a set of monkey bars on the beach. BEACHES SAFE The Health Department has tested the waters of Lily Lake and have found that it is safe for all the swimmers. REGARDING MINI-BIKES Trustee Kowal informed the Board that a pathway has been formed running from one beach to the other and following a discussion by the board, it will no longer be permitted and action will be taken against all violators. ATTENTION Anyone having an event in the village of Lakemoor must submit an agenda two weeks in advance to the board. NOTICE There will no longer be any Class E (late hour) licenses issued for Lakemoor businesses. o SCARY SITUATION •During the storm on Friday July 18, two homes were struck by lightning. They were the Anderson home on North Boulevard and the Meyers home on Dale Avenue. For­ tunately the damage was not too severe and no one was in­ jured. BIRTHDAYS On Aug. 1, Heather Hager will be celebrating her second big day in her very young life. On the fourth Charles (Dutch) Hueckstaedt will be celebrating his natal day, and on the fifth Chris Mumma will become a great big 7. And on the sixth Bob Dawdy will add one more candle to his cake. A very happy birthday to all those listed here. CONDOLENCES The sympathy of the com­ munity goes out by way of this column to the Fradinardo- Ferrara family due to their loss. Val Fradinardo passed away on July 21. Her survivors are her husband, Fred, their daughter, Lucinda, (Mrs. S. Martini), two grandchildren, her mother, Jennie Ferrara, two sisters, and two brothers. Val was laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery on July 24. See you next week. He's the man who then sends out the emergency crews to track it down and solve it. And because electricity is so vital to the welfare of a city, he must do all this with computer-like efficiency --whether the problem is an overloaded transformer or a tornado.
