After the advancement of the Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the "Star Spangled Banner", the charter was draped by Vice-President Pauline Pickett and Evelyn Osmon, in the absence of Chaplain Reba Owen, for Tillie Cooper, departed member. President-elect, Evelyn Osmon, announced that the joint installation of the Legion and auxiliary was to be held Sunday, July 27, and all members were invited to at tend "Happy Birthday" was sung to Eleanore Reid, Delia Dralle and Jane Grothman. Special prizes-wu&ce won by Florence McCann and Mary Meyer. Delia Freund was present to receive the attendance award. The History of McHenry Unit No. 491, written by Arlvs Aim was read by Florence McCann, and Pearl Cooper gave the department convention report announcing that her press book was awarded first place in department Florence McCann was refreshment chairman for the evening with her committee of Vera Purvey, Jaclean Bowles. Twenty-two members and one guest were present at the last meeting for the year. There will be no meeting in August, due to the department con vention.
