Elm Street McHenry, Illinois 60050 (Pub. Aug. 6, 13,20, 1975) Hall Damage Means Disaster Payments For Farms McHenry county farms hit by hail may be eligible for disaster payments if the farmers have wheat or feed grain allotments, according to Jimmie D. Lucas, .county executive director of the McHenry county ASCS office. "The producer's best course is to report to the county ASCS office as soon as he or she realizes that the crop yield may be substantially below nor mal," Lucas said. "The producer should report not later than 15 days after the crop is harvested or abandoned." "Before low yield payments can be made, the county ASC committee must have an op portunity to make a field in spection and obtain records which verify actual produc tion," Lucas added. When a producer visits the county ASCS office to report the disaster affecting production of his allotment crop, an ASCS representative will discuss all details with him, including the inspection and production evidence he will need. These are some reasons an early visit to the ASCS office is advisable, Lucas said.
