BAPTISM Emily Grace Andrews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Andrews, was baptized recently at the Nativity Lutheran church. YOUNG AT HEARTS The^Wonder Lake Young at Hearts recently spent a day traveling to Peoria where they enjoyed a boat ride and stopped at a restaurant for dinner. Their annual picnic has been planned for this week at a park in Huntley. Future plans an nounced by President, Marie Robinson, included a trip to the Sara Lee Kitchens and the Fort Sheridan Museum in Lake Forest. In the picturesque month of October, arrangements are being made for an overnight journey to Green Lake, Wis. The next meeting of these busy Young at Hearters will be on Wednesday, Aug. 20. CENTENNIAL EDITION We join so many others in praise for the tremendous centennial edition of the Plaindealer - with one ex ception. We feel it would have been kinder to the readers' eyes if the Wonder Lake correspondent had pulled an "Earl Walsh" when she had her picture taken and kept her hat on - pulled over her face! Workshop For Women Returning To School For anyone thinking about going back to school after years of raising a family or working, chances are the whole idea is a little bit scary. "Am I smart enough? Will the younger students in my classes think I'm weird? Is it okay to take the time away from my family?"There is a workshop especially for these kinds of concerns. On Saturday, Aug. 16, McHenry County college will hold an all-day workshop in the Student center on the interim campus in Crystal Lake. The workshop is designed for women either newly enrolled in, or thinking about returning to school. The purpose of the workshop, sponsored by the Office of Student Services and coordinated by Sue Halaska, is to provide women who are considering becoming students with support, encouragement, assistance, information, and an opportunity to talk about their concerns and have their questions about MCC an swered. The workshop, through a combination of films, peer-led discussion groups, and faculty and staff participation, will focus on both the emotional and practical needs and problems that arise when a woman is trying to make the back-to- school decision. Sue Halaska, in behalf of the entire college staff, sincerely extends an invitation to all women thinking about retur ning to college, to come and share their concerns and questions. The workshop will run from 9a.m. until 3 p.m. and t % * * * * • • * Osss Vycital's Hardware 1228 N.
