More mosquito spraying has been authorized and will be done as soon as the weather permits. The board unanimously approved the appointment of Charles Lister as full time patrolman and maintenance man for the village, the full cost of which is being borne by the McHenry County CETA program. This now gives McHenry Shores 24 hour police protection, including patrolling of the school bus stop areas. James Reese was appointed to the planning commission. There will be a public hearing of the planning commission on Sept. 29, 7 p.m. at the village hall. Clarence Norman was ap­ pointed the new road com­ missioner and Russ Haderly assistant road commissioner. T h e m u n i c i p a l i t y organizational chart was adopted by the board on a 6 month trial basis. There will be a regular board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the village hall. Sam and Julie's daughter, Audrey (Mrs. Chuck Whitney), had a surprise going away party for her parents. Fifteen friends, neighbors and former neighbors attended the cookout, and everybody had lots and lots of fun. Furthermore, one Saturday, some of the girls, took Julie out to lunch and treated her to a corsage and gift. Wasn't that nice of them? Sam Zeimet wants to take this opportunity to say goodbye to all the friends and neighbors who helped him when he was working for the village and, before that, for the homeowners. ENJOY TRIP IN DOOR COUNTY Bill and Shirley Cristy and Art and Katy Christopher took a short trip into Wisconsin recently, driving through Door County and then on north to Art's folks. Mrs. Clara Cristy accompanied them as far as Waupaca where she spent the time with her sister. The folks toured a couple of wineries and a cheese factory as well as browsing through many an­ tique shops. They also attended a fish boil which was very in­ teresting to watch but they were not quite sold on the menu. The trees were begin­ ning to show splashes of red in the foliage which is a reminder that fall is fast approaching. On the way home, they stopped at Diane and Gary Linstads at Appleton. The folks were surprised one morning while having breakfast at Crivitz, Wis., to see Ed Skidmore walk into the restaurant for coffee. Ed is the son of John and Curly Skidmore of our town. ABOUT TOWN Shirley Woodward of St. Petersburg, Fla., is visiting with her mother, Mabel Hawley, and sister, Marion Rienwall, in McHenry.
