Turn Lights On To Help Patrolmen Protect Property Here is another warning regarding the recent rash of burglaries and vandalism which has hit not only our community but also a lot of other areas. We now have 24 hour police protection in McHenry Shores but it does help the patrolmen if you leave at least one outside light bur ning during the night. It costs less than a nickel a night. What an investment if it helps prevent a burglary! WEED CUTTING The first cutting of weeds on empty lots was greatly ham pered by all sorts of debris, dirt and lawn clippings. Will you please consider what it means if the empty lot next to you cannot be mowed because of all that junk? There just is not enough time to send out a clean up crew before each cutting. PAINFUL SUMMER It has been a painful summer for Rudy Barnett who got hurt when helping out around the village in May. It is a pity that being a good neighbor resulted in such a bad experience for Rudy. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that your head will soon be as good as new again! HELPING OUT Especially after starting out with the vandalism news today, it is always refreshing to hear that some youngsters are more interested in building than in destroying. After the flooding bricks, blocks and stones had been placed along the creek to hold up the road but un fortunately some children think they are there just for playing. So Daniel Novotny and Karen Gosselink decided to help out putting these bricks back where they belong. We're proud of you kids! LITTLE LOST KITTY About two weeks ago a tor toise shell colored kitten was found in the vicinity of Hilltop and Terrace. If you lost it or are interested in adopting it, please call 385-3050 for information.
