The building operations for both structures were begun on July 6 of this year. The infant daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. John Christensen of Rosedale, Monday, Sept. 7, passed away eighteen days later, Sept. 25. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Oct. 3, 1935) The Marelto II, a sport cruiser made by the Everett Hunter Boat company of McHenry is again docked at Waukegan after an 800 mile round trip down the Mississippi river to St. Louis. Nine men made the trip and stayed ten days sightseeing along the Illinois river and also the Mississippi river. The girls and boys of the seventh and eighth grades of the public school left in the school bus Saturday morning accompanied by their teachers, Miss Mary Kirr.ey and M L. Schoenholtz. Supt. C.H. Duker also drove his car taking Mr. Ellis and two high school girls, Ruth Reihansperger and Eleanor Bolger, for a trip to the Field Museum, the Shedd aquarium and the Adler Planetarium. Mr. and Mrs. D.I. Granger and daughter returned home from a fifteen day trip to Arroy, New Mexico, where they visited Mr. Granger's brother, Charles. Ralph Justen, about fifteen years old, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Justen was taken to the hospital at Har- tland Sunday morning where he was operated on for ap­ pendicitis on that day. The boy's mother died a few hours later Sunday afternoon. Margaret Nelson has opened dancing classes in K. of C. hall. She will teach all types of dancing children from age three up, class lessons, 50 cents. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Oct. 12, 1950) One of the highlights at the M c H e n r y C o m m u n i t y Methodist church centennial celebration, Oct. 21 and 22, will be the dedicating of the new Cape Cod parsonage by the Bishop J. Raiph Magee. This new parsonage was built in Greenwood for $400. When McHenry was in the circuit with Greenwood and Ringwood the quarterly conference voted that the first chapel raising $400 could have the permit to build the parsonage. Greenwood raised the subscription and therefore built the structure. In 1898 Rev. Aaron, the minister at that time for McHenry, designed and with the help of members of the church built the present parsonage. This parsonage was dedicated free of debt in October 1880. It was built next to the church and remained there until the trustees of the Methodist church made plans to build a new home for the minister. One of the prettiest weddings of the season took place at St. Peter's church, Spring Grove, Oct. 7, when Miss Georgia Sch- mitt became the bride of Mr. Roland Bauer. The nuptial Mass was read by Rev. Fr. John Daleiden. Mr. and Mrs. Alfons Adams and daughters have moved from Fair Oaks subdivision to a tjpw home on First avenue in the north part of the city. Marilyn Owen, daughter of Harold Owen of this city, is now employed by the largest in­ dependent telephone company in the country, the Associated Telephone company, Ltd., whose main offices are in Santa Monica, Calif. A repair clerk in the wire chief's office, she finds her work most interesting. Mark Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hopkins, is at present spending six to eight weeks in Russia, spending time in Moscow and Leningrad, as Russian specialist for the Milwaukee Journal.
