Leag ues Baseball Merge For 1976 Stock Car Racing At the recently held Board of Director's meetings the McHenry Jr. Youth League Board and the McHenry Youth League Board voted to merge the two leagues. For the past 20 years or so the McHenry Jr. Youth league offered baseball opportunities to boys in McHenry between the ages of 8 and 12, playing under Little League rules, and the McHenry Youth League, with boys ages 13, 14 and 15, played under Babe Ruth League rules. The two boards got together and voted to dissolve the McHenry Youth league. The McHenry Jr. Youth league will now offer baseball to boys between the ages of 8 and 15. It is felt that this program will offer a continuous baseball format to the boys of McHenry and create a more stable and financiallly sound baseball program. At the respective board meetings it was also voted to realign the age structures so no boy is involved playing* the game of baseball against a boy more than one year older than he. The new alignment of the McHenry Jr. Youth league will be as follows: Minis - ages 8 and 9; Minors - ages 10 and 11; Majors - ages 12 and 13; Seniors -ages 14 and 15. In addition, the physical boundaries were realigned providing the boys with a stepping stone between the present Little League size field, and the Regulation size field the 13 through 15 yr. olds played on. In the past the Minis played on a field with a 40' pitcher's mound and 60' bases; the Minors and Majors used a 46' pitcher's mound and 60' bases; and the Senior Division used a 60'2' pitcher's mound and 90' bases. The new size field will be put in for the 12 and 13 yr. old boys and will have a 54' mound and 75' bases. It was felt by the respective boards that this new size field will allow the boys to learn more baseball and make the tran­ sition from the Major Division to the Senior Divisionyeasier for them to handle. / This merger was made possible by the cooperation the two leagues have shown to each other throughout the past several years and also through the cooperation of the city of McHenry and the McHenry School Districts. Sportsman Drivers And Owners Hear Race Proposals Tuesday, Nov. 18, more than 150 men 'and women interested in 1976 stock car racing rules with Toft Auto Racing, Antioch, met to hear Ray Toft discuss his plans for racing at the Kenosha County Speedway in Wilmot, Wis., starting April 1976. More than 90 cars were represented and heard plans to establish rules for the coming season. From among the suggestions made, will come a set of rules to be finally developed by a group of the owners and drivers. Plans are to operate the Kenosha County Speedway on two nights weekly rather than just on Saturday nights as in the past. This would make it possible to develop the Sport­ sman type cars that have raced in supporting roles in previous years. Consideration is still being given to plans to race modifieds, sprints and midgets at the track in 1976. Mr. Toft's plans for the Lake Geneva Raceway in 1976 have not been finalized. During the second half the Fighting Scots decided to play ball and came out in their man to man defense to try and erase the 12 point deficit. There was excellent defense by Kelly Coleman, Mark Brett- schneider, and Denis O'Brien in helping to stop Emmaus strong guard play. At one point MCC was down by 18 points but they came back and did the job. Strong rebounding by Rich Ward, Chris Toren. and Joe Miller helped to get second shots in for MCC and only allowing Emmaus one trvs. It was a fantastic win coming back from behind by 18 points.
