Brady, formerly of McHenry, has announced that he has withdrawn from seeking the Democratic nomination for Circuit judge to fill the possible vacancy in the event Judge William Gleason should retire. In his announcement of with drawal Brady stated, "I have written to Chief Judge Strouse and to all the judges in the Lake and McHenry counties Judicial circuit, advising them of my decision to withdraw. Although there had been much recent discussion as to persons who might pursue the judgeship that would be left open by the retirement of Judge Gleason, there was no con firmation of any filings of • petitions by the State Board of Election until December 15, 1975. To that end, I did file nominating petitions. With the confirmation of the filings by Associate Judge Hartel for the Democratic nomination and by Associate Judge Herrmann for the Republican nomination, the voters 'of Lake-McHenry counties will have a clear choice of two candidates of recognized ability and com petence. In short, the people of Lake and McHenry counties will be assured of the preser vation of high judicial stan dards. I am, therefore, com pelled to defer and withdraw."
