History Book To Commemorate Lakemoor's Past Pat Morrison, a member of the Lakemoor Bicentennial commission has been busy putting together a history book of the village of Lakemoor. Pat has been able to go back as far as the late 1800's and will continue through 1976. If anyone has any news that would be of help, please call her at 385-8707. Pat would like to . have the book completed by September of this year. Arthur and Diane Tully are new in Lakemoor. Mr. and Mrs. Tully are formerly of Chicago, but come to Lakemoor from Lake Zurich. They have a son, Kenneth, who is 16, and a daughter, Mary Anna, who is 13. Mr. Tully is an industrial engineer and also writes sports events for the Barrington Press. Mrs. Tully was an ex terior handyman (woman), self-employed in Lake Zurich. Her hobbies are sewing, ceramics and baking. Welcome to Lakemoor, Mr. and Mrs. Tully, and family. ALL ARE INVITED! Rev. Sunset Drive, Lakemoor, is the newest member of the McHenry- Nunda District Library board. Mrs. Garn will join Marylyn Ryan, secretary, and Marion Leske, trustee, from our area. New children's books are being purchased, adding to our current list a group of best sellers, such as "Curtains" and the "Choir Boys". Children are registering in the American Bicentennial reading program to get a feel in e of our country as it was and as it is, through other people's experiences. FUN FAIR Hilltop school will hold its Fun Fair on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hilltop school on Lincoln avenue. There will be White Elephants and bakery goods in addition to twenty attractive booths. Two are new this year, be sure and check them out. The McCullom Lake Con servation club Ice derby, will be held On Feb: 7 and 8. the hours will be from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be fifty-six daily prizes given away. The derby will take place in the McCullom Lake Community house which is heated. Food, bait, tackle, fishing licenses, lake maps and derby rules will be available in the building. VILLAGE ORDINANCES Ordinance 52 A: Vehicles must be parked 18 inches from the paved surface of the road, if not you will be ticketed. During the winter months, when there is snowplowing to be done, the cars will be ticketed and possibly towed sway st ths owner's expense. Ordinance 13: Garbage cant are not to be left out after the day of pickup. Home owners leaving cans out will be ticketed. ARCHERY The McCullom Lake Archery club meets on the first and third Sunday of the month. There will not be a meeting on the eighth of February because of the Fislr Derby. They will resume their meetings on Feb. 22. The Northern Illinois Bowman club met on Thursday evening at the McCullom Lake Community hall for a meeting and to shoot. Their meeting was quite a success, and people are invited to attend the meeting and to shoot. The meetings are held every Thursday from 7 until to p.m. NEW SIGNS The next village board meeting will be held on Feb. 10. The village has new signs as you enter and leave the village but the residents will not see them until the weather warms up as the ground is too hard to sink the post « BRIDAL SHOWER A bridal shower was held at the home of John and Marcella Kalash. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, has taken graduate courses at the University of Wisconsin, where he received a federal grant under Title XI to study "Changing Needs in Education", and has received his Master's degree from Northern Illinois university. Mr. Kenyon is married and has four children. He enjoys reading local history, belongs to the Historical society and is involved with the public library in Woodstock. He is a member of the Science committee in District 15. His students are studying oceans in regard to natural resources, and are planning to get involved in the weather and electricity in the near future. They have taken a number of field trips this year to expand the units they were studying. Mr. Kenyon's hometown is Williams Bay, Wis.
