St. Agatha Court To Name Officers March 16 St. Agatha Court No. 777, National Catholic Society of Foresters at Johnsburg, will meet Tuesday evening, March 16, at 8 o'clock in the Com­ munity club hall. New officers for the coming year will be elected. The Nominating committee appointed in January will present a slate of officers for election. The last round of the card tournament will also be played. Committee for the meeting are Mrs. Frances Schmitt, Miss Roselle Stilling, Mrs. Clarence Freund, Miss Betty Sompel, Mrs. Thomas Oeffling and Mrs. Harvey May. The annual Corporate Communion for the adult and junior members will be April 11 at the 9 o'clock Mass in St. John the Baptist church, with break­ fast in the Community hall after Mass. The N.C.S.F. Rockford Diocesan association twenty- second conference will be held Sunday, April 25, at the Newman Central Catholic high school in Sterling. Couple Repeats Nupital Vows At St. John St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, was the scene of a pretty winter wed­ ding Saturday, March 6, when Deborah Lynn Bogacz of 3616 W. Grant drive, McHenry, became the bride of Brian LeWis VanBuren of 4401 E. Wonder Lake drive, Wonder Lake. They repeated their nuptial vows before the Rev. Leo Bartel during 3 o'clock afternoon services in a church decorated with altar bouquets of white gladioli, daisies and yellow mums. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. Bogacz of 3317 N. Hamlin, Chicago, and the groom's parents aye Mr. and Mrs.' Theodore VanBuren of 1204 Lincoln road, McHenry. The bride wore a floor length, white satin dress styled with an old fashioned motif featuring a high neckline, long sleeves and a front panel of lace. Her fingertip, illusion veil was attached to a headpiece fashioned of white daisies and baby's breath. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and baby's breath to match her headpiece. Elizabeth Bogacz of McHenry attended her sister- in-law as maid of honor and Lizabeth Bogacz of McHenry, the bride's niece, served as flower girl. The maid of honor chose a yellow, floor length gown styled identically to the bride's gown. She wore a yellow, blusher length illusion veil headpiece and carried a bouquet of yellow daisies. The flower girl's floor length, empire dress was fashioned with white lace over yellow. She carried a basket of yellow and white daisies enhanced with baby's breath. Bruce Meshberg of Niles, served the groom as best man. Handling the ushering duties were Len Bogacz and Bruce VanBuren, both of McHenry. For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother chose a floor length, royal blue dress with a white front panel and wore a nosegay corsage of white mums and a yellow rose. The groom's mother wore a floor length, Navy blue dress with a white lace jacket and had a similar corsage. Following the ceremony, a reception for friends and relatives was held at the home of the groom's parents. The newlyweds plan to take a wedding trip later this year. They are now making their home in Wonder Lake. The bride received her education in Chicago and she is now employed as manager at Clark Gas station, McHenry. The bridegroom was educated in Vermont schools and works in Niles as a sheetmetalsmith. Mental Health Clinic Subject O f PTA Talk The Harrison school P.T.A. will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, March 16, at 8 p.m. in the school gym. The speaker will be Dorothy Devine from the McHenry County Mental Health clinic. She will talk about the services provided by the clinic and also tell about its funding. There will be a question and answer period following Refreshments will be served. The McHenry County Historical society has been left a legacy of $10,000 by the will of Floyd E. Eckert, well known Woodstock attorney who passed away in 1971. Mr. Eckert was on the first board of directors and a most en­ thusiastic member in organizing and "selling" the society to others. He was a collector of Lin- colniana and had previously given a large framed lithograph of President Lincoln holding a cabinet meeting in the White House,, which now hangs in the schoolroom of the Museum. With this most recent gift the Society is naming the exhibit hall in his honor and a plaque will be put on the wall for all to see. The money has been used to pay off the outstanding loans that the Society had made in order to renovate the old Union Marian Pretzman Leads Slate Of Officers For Year Charles Hepner, chairman of the nominating committee presented the slate of officers for the coming year at the regular meeting of the Pioneer club of Richmond held recently. Officers are Marian Pretzman, president; Walter Pretzman, vice-president; Bea Meier, second vice-president; secretary, Ardella Anderson; treasurer, Elaine Leonhardt. Motion was made by Elizabeth Wittmayer, seconded by Mary Stanek that the slate be ac­ cepted as presented. Beulah Karls, member of nominating committee requested that the secretary cast an unanimous ballot to accept the officers for a term of one year. All favored by signifying "aye". Publicity chairman invited all ladies present to attend a program on cancer periodic check-ups and early detection. The program will be at St. Peter's hall, Spring Grove, on March 18,8 p.m. There will be a speaker and film strips. All those attending the Bicentennial dance at Hunters Country club reported enjoying it very much. It was noted there would be a Day of Prayer service at Grace Lutheran church on March 5 at 1:30 p.m. Announcements made were a luncheon and card party at St. Peter's hall, Spring Grove od March 17, 11:30 a.m., Flower! Sh6w trip on March 24, Historical Tableau pageant at the high school on April 11, 4 p.m., card party and luncheon at St. Joseph hall, Richmond, on April 27,11:30 a.m. A motion was made and carried that the club treasury would pay half on the tickets for the club's annual Spring luncheon. Congratulations were ex­ tended to Charles Hepner for the award received for twenty- three years of service as a volunteer fireman in Glenview. There will be a change in the day of next meeting. CHURCH SERVES DINNER The public is invited to attend the annual St. Patrick's day corned beef and cabbage dinner Sunday, March 14, in St. Patrick's church hall, 3500 W, Washington street, McHenry. The dinner, complete with dessert, will' be served family style from 1 to 4 p.m. The youngest person ever to receive a pacemaker was less than one day old when it was implanted. When the Society needed money it approached the six­ teen banks and six savings and loan associations in McHenry county and asked that each make a loan of $2,000. Of the twenty-two institutions, thir­ teen responded. All agreed that 74 percent interest should be paid over a period of five years--to March of 1977. It is hoped the Museum will be ready for a grand opening July 4. The installation of a curved stairway taken from the pre-Civil War Dietz house formerly on Rt. 20, west of Marengo, has taken much longer than anticipated. Also, the installation of the Wood­ stock fire engine is waiting for the ground to firm up so it can be moved in and other fire equipment arranged around it. Guests for the evening were Mrs. Jerome Murphy, department first vice- president; Mrs. Matthew Merritt, 11th district president; and Mrs. Grover Petrie. 11th district vice-president. Many other guests were present from the 11th district and other county posts. During the business meeting reports were heard from the various county units.
