Fight the chills with a Polish Hot Pot. Pare 6 potatoes and cut into V2 inch slices. Arrange in the bottom of a greased 2 quart casserole. Cut V2 pound Polish sausage into 1 inch slices and place over po tatoes. Top with 6 oniqns thickly sliced. Mix a 1 pound can of tomatoes, iy2 teaspoons paprika and 1 teaspoon salt and add to the casserole. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Stir in % cup sour cream and bake 15 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings. Valley View School Gives Music Program The first and second grade children of Valley View school in McHenry will present their Spring music program, "The Spirit of '76", to parents and friends Monday, April 5, at 2 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The first graders will begin the program with some patriotic songs featuring a marching group from Miss Bauer's room. "John Brown Had a Little Indian" and "Playing Indian" are songs which will include a group of Indian dancers from Miss Casey's room. Some of the children in Mrs. Gilmore's room will demonstrate a "Quaker" singing game which will have a bell ac companiment. Some of Miss Langner's children will be featured in a Spring garden and Easter scene. The children and their teachers have worked together making hats and other decorations for the program. The second graders will begin their part of the program by singing, "Yankee Doodle". "The Angel Band" will have an ensemble of various rhythm instruments played by children from Mrs. Spasojevich's and Mrs. Stumbri's room. Miss Weber and Mrs. Moerr- schbaecher's rooms will be featured in a cowboy medley. The classes will join together in a Stephen Foster song and some folk songs including "Go Tell Aunt Rhode" and "Going Down to Cairo". These songs will be accompanied by various children in costumes playing rhythm instruments. In conclusion, the combined classes will join together to sing "America". The program will be directed by Mrs. Dorothy Hollander, music teacher. Alas! Sam -1 got tonsillitis, followed by appendicitis and pneumonia. Then they gave me inoculations.
