Saturday and niversary the McHenry Choral 200th birthday in two weekend Sunday, May 8 and 9, in West We Have Re-evaluated Our Lives and decided to slow down and take the time to smell the flowers. Beginning Monday, May 3 we will be opening at a new time. campus auditorium at 8:15 p.m. Charter members have been issued special invitations to attend an original Bicentennial tribute, "Portraits of America", highlighting various eras in the history of the country. An open house reception will be held im mediately following the program Saturday evening. Tom Birmingham will act as narrator, providing brief glimpses into highlights of the various periods. The Prologue will present events leading , up to the War for Independence. Other scenes, bringing on stage such personages as Betsy Ross, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, are The Revolutionary War, New Frontiers, The Great Civil War, The Changing Century and Until Today. / The club, with sixty-five singers, draws its membership from Richmond, Woodstock Carpentersville, Long Grove and Hebron, as well as the entire McHenry area. Schneider. New Members Join Church New members were received Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 North Green street, McHenry, by letter of transfer from other Lutheran congregations. At the 8:3p a.m. worship services the new members were invited to come forward to receive a certificate of church mem bership from Pastor Roger Schneider. At the conclusion of the worship service, the new members formed a receiving line to be greeted by some of the members of the parish. A "get-acquainted" party will be held in the Fireside room of the church in the near future to allow the new members to become better acquainted with others who have been members of the congregation for some time. Lauretta Homo, McHenry County Council Girls' State chairman, introduced May Chesak of Huntley and as moderator for the afternoon tea, told the assembled guests all about Illini Girls' State. She then introduced last year's Girls' Staters, who told the guests about their experiences at McMurray college during the 1975 session.
