To be chosen for membership in the all-campus honorary, an undergraduate student must be enrolled full-time at NMSU. Juniors must have a cumulative gradepoint average of at least 3.8 out of a possible 4.0, and seniors must have earned at least a 3.5. Fairway drive, McHenry, has accepted the position of resident assistant at Rockford college for the 1976-77 academic year, according to William Volkman, dean of student services at the school. As a resident assistant, his responsibility will be "to maintain an atmosphere conducive to academic pursuits and responsible, meaningful, group living" in the dormitory. Mr. Leisten is a biology major, a member of the Pre-. Medical club and has actively participated in intramural football, basketball, and baseball. A 1973 graduate of Marian Central high school, Mr. Leisten is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Leisten of McHenry. Two From McHenry Participate In Piano Festival This week, 170 piano students from all over McHenry county and Elgin will participate in the annual Piano festival spon sored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Teacher division of the American College of Musicians, of which each teacher sponsoring students is a member. Each student participating is registered for a year's mem bership in the National fraternity of Studen Musicians, is certificated and given a gold or bronze embossed pin. Local students are Carol Petty and Richelle Allen. Judge for the festival is Dr. Thomas Hurley of St. Norbert college in DePere, Wi., where he is head of piano studies and works with piano majors in performance and pedagogy. He also supervises a cadet teaching program at the coHege for student piano teachers. She is the team leader for the PLE and also a member of the Curriculum council. She is a graduate of National college and has taken graduate studies from National and La Verne college. She enjoys needlepoint, reading, tennis, growing plants and is a member of the Springfest Fair association in Woodstock. Her students recently completed a unit on plants in which they grew some flowers for Mother's day gifts and also visited the Mitchell Park conservatory in Milwaukee. They are working on a Bicentennial play and also visited Pioneer park as part of their 1776-1976 activities. A self awareness program is being used in the PLE to help students investigage their responsibility and role in group activity. Her class also is in volved in the weather and May is their month to keep track of the various conditions of weather. Miss Bauer's home town is Madison, Wi. Associate Circuit Judge Is Graduate Judge Roland A. Herrmann, an associate Circuit judge in Lake and McHenry counties, was graduated from the National College of the State Judiciary last weekend following successful com pletion of the three-week course conducted at the University of Nevada at Reno, Nv. The National college is an activity of the judicial ad ministration division of the American Bar association. Judge Herrmann said the course is structured to help experienced judges re-examine their decision-making procedures and to acquire knowledge of newer judicial approaches in the conduct of trails. Judge Herrmann has had eighteen years' experience as a lawyer and judge. Since becoming an associate Circuit judge of the 19th Judicial cir cuit, he has presided on a continuous basis in both Lake and McHenry counties. Formed in 1964, the National college has four major goals toward improving the ad ministration of justice, recounted Judge Herrmann.
