They can be an essential link between hospital and home for a recuperating pa tient. For people who need long term care, nursing homes provide many levels of care, from intensive round-the- clock nursing care to health monitoring in a protective environment. The American Health Care Association, a non-profit or ganization, points out that you'll be able to observe the three types of care a nursing home offers: Nursing care, administered by a registered or practical nurse; personal care, which provides services such as walking, getting in and out of bed and so on; and residential care, general supervision and a protective environment, including room and board and social and rec reational programs. Nursing home residents enjoy visitors at any time of the year, say nursing home officials. In fact, visitors and volun teers can be a "wonder drug" that makes all the difference to someone who is elderly or convalescent. The more you show you care, the more our care shows. PAGE ? .
