This four-year scholarship gives full tuition, payment for books and $100 per month for four years at Notre Dame university. He was selected at Maxwell Air Force base by a board who screened 2,100 applicants. There were only seven Air Force ROTC scholarship recipients from Illinois. Karyl Bryniarski and W. Bret Jackson were recipients of the American Legion awards. Cindy Malinski won the John Dreymiller scholarship, with Calinda Leonard as alternate. The Chicago Tribune scholarship went to Mark Snyder and the International Register Co. award to Bryan O'Neill. Ellen Quinlan was presented the March of Dines scholarship. McHenry hospital awards went to Karen Freund, Cindy Malinski and Ellen Quinlan, while Memorial hospital awards were won by Cindy Malinski and Mary Morowski. Sue Cable and Karen Freund were winners of the McHenry Business & Professional club awards, with Karyl Bryniarski and Ellen Quinlan, alternates. Glenn, 2607 Hilltop, Wonder Lake, charged with no valid driver's license, amended to license expired less than 6 months, fined $25 and costs. Amy A. Miller, 309 Route 173, Spring Grove, charged with driving while intoxicated, amended to reckless driving, fined $50 and costs and sen­ tenced to 7 days in county jail. Also found guilty of improper lane usage, fined $10 and costs. Kenneth R. Witz, 4515 Willow drive, McHenry, guilty of open liquor in a motor vehicle, fined $25 and costs; guilty of failure to dim headlights, fined $10 and •costs and guilty of unlawful possession of alcoholic liquor, fined $25 and costs. Steven R. Kuntz, 4607 Wilmot road, McHenry, guilty of at­ tempted theft under $150, fined $100 and costs. Patrick K. Carr, 831 Monroe, Carpentersville, guilty of driving while intoxicated, fined $100 and costs. Another charge of speeding was nolle prossed on a motion by the State's Attorney. Paul R. Ink, 400 Shepherd Hill drive, McHenry, court found probable cause on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools, case continued. Albert L. Ripp, 5912 Mc- Cullom Lake road, McHenry, guilty of criminal damage to property under $150, fined $100 and costs. Another charge of criminal damage to property under $150 was not prosecuted on a motion by the State's Attorney. Circuit Court Judge Charles Parker John M. Porterfield, 100 S. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, placed on 18 months' probation on a charge of unlawful possession of controlled sub­ stance. COMPLAINTS Leadis Stayton charges that on Dec. 30, 1975, Shirley Sar- torius of 5003 Parkview, McHenry, committed the of­ fense of deceptive practice in that she did, with intent to defraud, give a check for $30 to the complainant drawn on the First Bank of Oak Park, knowing said check would not be paid by that depository. Bond set at $1,500, court date May 27. The Woman's club of Wonder Lake recognition went to Diane Eschner. Joann Larkin won the McHenry Kiwanis club award, and Joy Vyduna was presented the McHenry Rotary club award. Recipients of other scholarships and academic awards to various colleges and universities were Karyl Bryniarski, James Engmark, Karen Freund, David Gerrard, Gail Gunder, Susan Johnson, Maribeth ,Karas, Lowell Kivley, Joann Larkin, Calinda Leonard, Kimberly Marie Nielson, Bryan O'Neill, Solve Bank Robbery With Weekend Arres t The armed robbery of the Algonquin State B?nk was solved over the weekend with the arrest of an Aurora man by police and FBI agents in St. Louis, Mo. Michael L.Schoen, 33, of 111 Monroe, North Aurora, was arrested by St. Louis police after he was seen displaying a large quantity of currency thought to be counterfeit. Schoen entered the Algonquin State bank Monday, May 17, and displayed a blue steel revolver. He took $6,000 from the bank and fled through a rear door. Besides the federal charge of bank robbery, St. Louis police charged Schoen with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a knife and illegal possession of drugs.
