M* Pamper him with softness from top to toe Men can be comfortable as well as fashionable this year with the soft new looks that spring has to offer. The new fashions are tailored but with soft er relaxed fit and silky stretchy textures. New spring softie* Even accessories have gone for comfort -- watch es pull on rather than strap and bind, ties are made of crocheted or knit ted fabrics so they won't constrict the neck. Treat your favorite dad or grad to one of the new spring softies. Heralding the trend to unstructured fashion Is the leisure suit, a spin off of the western duo of jeans-Jacket and jeans. Leisure suits are showing up more and more at week end parties and have even found their way Into busi ness meetings with a cas ual flavor. Suited for leisure The most man pleasing thing about a leisure suit is that it doesn't require a tie. The suit is at its best when worn with a silky open necked shirt for sum mer wear or a light turtle neck sweater for brisker days. Leisure suits are avail able in a wide range of fabric and color. The jack ets are generally cut to resemble a shirt, with but tons down the front and rounded side vents. You can buy a leisure ouit off the rack because the lengths are propor tioned to avoid alterations. If you're not sure that dad would like to go all the way with a casual suit, give him an accessory to soften his regular ward- robs. For example, pick out a business shirt that is just a bit more than a business shirt. It can be white or pastel, the essen tial point is that it is made of Qiana, jersey or silk. Shirted comfort These shirts look like the traditional starched versions but they're soft and comfortable against the skin. Stiff summer shoes can be torture chambers for the feet. Help the man in your life put his best foot forward with a pair of canvas, suede or composi tion shoes that breathe. Rope, crepe or ridged soles can take city street pound ing as well as the beach scene. Feet first The popular Earth Shoe with the heel lower than the toe might be just what dad's feet need to be com fortable. The inverted construction shifts body weight backward to take the load off the toes. If your dad likes sweat ers, give him cashmere if your budget can stand it, or a cotton and acrylic blend. Stay away from bulkies and ski sweaters, he probably has a closet full of them. The bulkies are scratchy and may be uncomfortable to wear in side and too hot for balmy spring days. Light sweaters cut like shirts are newer than tur- tlenecks and many men find they can work as a layer over a shirt or alone with a soft scarf at the throat. Since sweaters us ually come small, medium and large it's an easy choice to fit. One of the most com fortable answers for facial grooming this season is the new Soft Touch razor from Remington. The Soft Touch is designed to give a man a close shave the very first time he uses it -- even if he's never shaved with an electric razor be fore. Gift of convenience If your dad's a blade man clue him in to the convenience of electric shaving. He doesn't need water and soap which can be drying to many skin types and he won't have to take off that new soft shirt to touch up his five o'clock shadow. If your dad Is slim and athletic, he might be ready to try out the newest fash ion look -- the jumpsuit. Jumpsuits aren't for every one but they're the kind of easy one-piece dressing that a dad on the go would like. Another fashion sport is the jogging suit. You'll recognize it as the warm- up suit of the Olympics. The zip-up jacket and trim ankle zipped pants are Give Your Sport A Father's Day SPORT GIFT SPECIAL I f 4 days only Garcia 300 Reel Reg.
