HARRISON CONCERT BAND STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Harrison Band Opens Six-Week Summer Session The Harrison school concert band, under the direction of Tom Rome, has enjoyed a very rewarding school year and is topping it off with a six-week session of summer band. This band, some thirty-five members strong, worked very hard and received a first place rating at the district contest in March and were invited to participate in the state band contest in April. At the state contest, they received a second place rating, missing first place by only 1 point. The summer band program at Harrison runs for six weeks, two days per week, and started June 15. This band will also be participating in the* July 4 Bicentennial celebration in Wonder Lake. Several of the students in this band are graduating eighth graders who will be continuing their musical education at area high schools.
