Monday, June 28: Rusty Nail won twice over the Chalet by scores of 9-5 and 3-1; Old Bridge beat House of David 9-8 in ten innings, Cork and Cleaver won two from McHenry Hospital by scores of 10-0 and 13-3. Robino Ladd split with Fireside Inn, losing 10-9 in the last inning and then in game two scored 6 runs to come from behind and win by one run, 11-10. With two-thirds of the season complete Rusty Nail holds a sliin one game advantage over Mouse of David. Cork ahd Cleaver is two games behind the leaders with Old Bridge four games back. The Chalet is five games back and Robino Ladd eight full games behind. The question still remains, who will win the league title this year? The big game this week is Rusty Nail versus House of David. The top two teams could decide the outcome, or at least make it more clear who has the best shotut first place, with two - victories Wednesday night. A split would leave Rusty Nail still ahead by one game. But next week the Nail plays in a doubleheader with Old Bridge and three weeks from this Wednesday play the Cork and Cleaver in a single game. That is 5 games versus the tougher teams in the league. The House of David plays McHenry Hospital in a doubleheader next week, but must play The Chalet, Robino Ladd and Cork and Cleaver in Single games. The last two teams hive already beaten The irlier in the season. hot count the Cork and out yet! The Hall of Fame members will be enshrined with their photographs and a resume of their contributions to boys' baseball. in McHenry. The trophy case will be per­ manently installed in the V.F.W. Hall on Rt. 120 in McHenry. The initial inductees into the McHenry Jr. Youth League Hall of Fame are Fred J. Meyer, Edward J. Buss, Charles "Chuck" Miller and Henry "Hank" Tonyan. It is the intent of the Jr. Youth League Board of Directors to install one new member into the Hall of Fame each year, based on recommendations from past and present members of the Jr. Youth League. The four original inductees were all involved in the program at its inception in 1955 and have been continuously involved through the entire 21 year hisotry of boys' baseball here kn McHenry. Without these four men the League would not have begun and certainly would not have been able to continue to operate at its present scale. Fred J. Meyer is the original founder of Hoys' baseball in McHenry through the National CHUCK MILLER Little League Association in 1955. In addition, Fred served sUhft-League's flrst president iftid, ipTafkr^ Mi' president for seven years. Fred also managed a team for fotft years. - Edward J. Buss is an original and continuous sponsor of boys' baseball in McHenry and, in addition, Ed served as President of the League for four years and was a team manager for eight years. Charles "Chuck" Miller is also an original and continuous sponsor and Chuck and his crew built the original Little League Fields, landscaping them and designing the field layouts, and upon their com­ pletion he sent the League a' ~ marked "Paid in Full". Henry "Hank" Tonyan Is al an original and continuous sponsor and is responsible for the construction of the original backstop, dugouts, bleachers and other structures necessary for a baseball diamond, and also sent the League a bill marked "Paid in Full". Weekday classes meet Monday thru Friday for 10 lessons from 3:30-4:00 p.m. One instructor will teach a maximum of 6 students. Classes begin on July 12, July 26, August 9 and August 23. One year thru three year old /girls and boys have swim in­ struction on weekdays at 2:00 p.m. Four thru six year old boys and girls are divided into three levels beginners, repeat and advanced classes. The beginners classes meet from 10:30-11:00 or 11:30-12:00 Noon for 10 days^ Monday thru Friday. Repeat and advance classes meet at 11:00-11:30. Monday thru Friday.
