f A FULL DAY OF FUN & GOLF FOR BOYS AGES 12 thru 17 The House Tomasello-Seliga Vows Repeated In Johnsburg St. John the Baptist church of Johnsburg was the setting for the wedding of Sally E. Tomasello, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tomasello, 1307 W. Old Bay road, McHenry, and Darrell J. Seliga. The bridegroom is the son of Irene Baran, Sunnyside, and Chester Seliga, Chicago. The Rev. Leo Bartel of­ ficiated at the altar decorated with white gladioli and mums, Saturday, July 24, at 3 o'clock. The special musical selection, "Ave Maria", was sung by Mickie Sopko. The lovely bride wore an ivory gown of chiffon knit with embroidered lace at the high collar and repeated at the sleeves and bodice. The lace trimmed full skirt flowed into a chapel length train. A comb held the long mantilla veil edged with wide lace. White roses were carried by the bride. Witnesses at the ceremony were Doris Anne Tomasello, sister of the bride, McHenry, and Tom Rinda of Genoa City. Bridesmaids were Audrey Twomey, sister of the groom, Rochelle; Susan Muecke, Fond Du Lac, Wi., and Lynn Mc- Whinnie, McHenry. Groomsmen included Bill Twomey, brother-in-law of the groom, Rochelle, Pete Schilling, McHenry and Vin­ cent Tomasello, brother of the bride, McHenry. The bride's mother wore a poudre blue, chiffon knit, floor length dress with matching cape while Mrs. Baran chose an apricot polyester cape-sleeve dress. The Johnsburg Community club was the setting for a reception with 200 guests at­ tending. After their return from Wisconsin, the couple intend to make their home in Fox Lake. The bride is a 1976 graduate of McHenry West campus and is employed at Osco drug, McHenry, as a clerk. The groom also graduated from McHenry West campus in 1975 and works at the Jewel warehouse in Barrington: -- -- *1 w-- i BIRTHS MCHENRY HOSPITAL BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Bischof, 4714 Williams street, McHenry, are the parents of a daughter born July 26. HOSPITAL NOTES MR. AND MRS. PHIL KIEFER EXCHANGE VOWS - At the altar decorated with blue and white flowers in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Mary Jean Weber and Phil Kiefer exchanged the vows that united them as man and wile. The Rev. Raymond Kearney officiated at the 5 o'clock ceremony Friday, July 16. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Weber, 3708 W. Maple, McHenry. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kiefer, 442 W. South street, Woodstock. Two hundred guests feted the bridal couple at the Johnsburg Community club following the Mass. After a honeymoon trip to Lake Geneva, the couple set up residence in Woodstock. Both are employed in McHenry, the bride as a teacher at Valley View school and the groom as an employee of Heights Finance. DeWANE STUDIO PHOTO Seniors Club Honors Couple On Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. William Lamont were honored on their golden wedding anniversary at the Wonder Lake Senior Citizen's club meeting Monday, July 19, at Nativity Lutheran church. The surprise party began with a mock wedding, Frank Wiedemann officiating. A beautifully decorated table with a gold tablecloth held gold candelabra with gold candles, a wedding cake trimmed with yellow rosebuds and a golden money-tree made by some of the club women. After the couple cut the cake, the group sang songs popular fifty years ago. Soloist, Mrs. Louise Hansen, sang "I Love You Truly" which brought memories to all present. The grand finale of the evening took place when all stood, held hands and sang "Auld Lang Syne." AUGUST 3 Fall Bazaar Workshop - United Methodist Women -- 11 man, Margaret Sasak, McHenry; Vicki Shafer, Lucille Plante, Sally Sullivan, Marie Koplin, Wonder Lake. the meeting, President Bill Lamont announced that the Wonder Lake Kiwanis club has donated blood pressure ap­ paratus to the Senior Citizen's club for use by all senior citizens of Wonder Lake. The program to use this new ap- partus will begin in August. Get-well wishes were ex­ tended to Julius Margolis, who is recuperating at home following surgery. All of the 130 members present joined in singing the birthday song and the an­ niversary song to those celebrating in July. Guests present at the meeting were the Rev. Roger Olson and his wife, Diane; Andy Fejedelem, program director of the Crystal Lake Senior Citizens Walk-in, and Ed Sherwin of the Crystal Lake and Woodstock Senior Citizen's clubs. The evening closed with card playing and refreshments. Next meeting of the club is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. A surprise twenty-fifth wedding anniversary party was given for Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. O'Brien by their children, Chris, Tom, Cele • and Paul O'Brien. The gathering took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bauer, Sunday, July 18. Mrs. Joan Bauer is a sister of Mr. O'Brien. An afternoon concelebrated Mass of Thanksgiving was offered at St. Patrick's Catholic church, with the Rev. Charles R. O'Brien, brother of Mr. O'Brien, Rev. Edmund Petit and Rev. Rawnond Kearney officiating, following the ceremony, buffet dinner was served to sixty-five guests from the surrounding area, Min­ nesota and Wisconsin. The couple were married at St. Anastasia Catholic church, Evanston, July 21, 1951, and have made their home at 908 N. Woods, McHenry since that time. A highlight of the day oc­ curred when Mrs. O'Brien, at the urging of friends, tried on her wedding dress, which was among the mementos displayed. Everyone agreed she was as lovely in her gown today as she. was twenty-five years ago. XHFNSH The FISH of the Wonder Lake Community organization an­ nounces an annual tag day Saturday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The FISH is a Christain Community organization which, when called, can fill needs in such emergency areas dS! Hall - 8 p.m. McHenry Senior Citizens Club -- Driver Refresher Course - First Session --10 a.m. Myrtle Ohman Is Honored At Surprise Party Myrtle Ohman of McCullom Lake was pleasantly surprised at a farewell luncheon and kitchen shower last Saturday. Mrs. Ohman will leave early in August to make her home in Indiana. When she returned home Saturday noon, she found neighbors and friends had gathered to honor her. The party was arranged by Mrs. Ohman's sister, Sylvia Nelson, who lives with her. After a tasty lunch, gifts for her new kitchen were presented to the guest of honor. Attending the gathering were Grace Quanstrom, Pam Barrows, Susan Rutherford, Jean Gudauskas, Cheryl Toalson, Nancy Williams, Gerri Moerschbaecher, Marian Barrows, Ann Simonson, Mary Simonson, Florence Olsen and Betsy Airds. Later in the afternoon, Mrs. Ohman's two brothers, Burt Simonson and Sy Simonson, joined the gathering. One of the dangers of looking ahead is that we see things that never happen.
