Slipiec, father of a McHenry man, died at Downey Veterans hospital Saturday, Aug. 7. The deceased was a veteran of W W. II and a resident of Waukegan. Survivors include two sons, Bradley of McHenry and Scott of Waukegan, and a brother, Roy, of Northbrook. ! Visitation was held Monday afternoon at the Marsh funeral home, Waukegan, with graveside services Tuesday afternoon at Northshore Garden of Memories. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart fund or the Kidney foundation. GEORGE E.ADAMS A native of the McHenry area, George E. Adams, died Aug. 7 at Fox Valley Nursing center, South Elgin, at the age of 89. Mr. Adams was born Feb. 13, 1887, in Spring Grove and farmed the McHenry area until 1944. From that time until retirement he was employed as a carpenter in Elgin. The deceased had made his home at 1434 Maple lane, Elgin, until recently. He was the last charter member of the Knights of Columbus, McHenry chapter and a member of St. Laurence Catholic church in Elgin. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Powell and Mary Whalen of Elgin; three sons, Don of California, Robert of McHenry and William of Elgin; two stepdaughters, Lorene Switzer of Elgin and Marilyn Cassata of California; three stepsons, Norbert Knight of California, Ted Knight of Dundee and Harold Knight of Florida; and two sisters, Margaret and Clarabelle, both of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Mass was offered Monday morning at St. Laurence Catholic church, Elgin, following visitation and ser vices at the O'Conner funeral home, Elgin. Interment was in Mount Hope cemetery. HELEN B.GREEN A former McHenry grade school teacher, Helen B. Green, died in McHenry hospital Aug. 6 at the age of 72. Mrs. Green was born April 22, 1904, in Woodstock, the daughter of John D. and Ellen (Phalin) Bolger. She married James R. Green June 13, 1939. She is survived by two sons, James of Woodstock and Thomas of Brainard, Mn.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Erin) Groden, Crystal Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Doherty of McHenry and Mercedes Bolger of Woodstock and ten grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, her parents and three brothers. Visitation was held at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin and Cooney funeral home, Wood stock, Monday. The Rev. William I. Joffee officiated at Mass at St. Mary's Catholic church Tuesday morning. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Woodstock. OTTO HEINZ Otto Heinz of Tempe, Az., 2727 E. University drive, No. 44, formerly of McHenry, died July 16 in a Los Angeles, Ca., hospital, friends here have learned. He operated a fur shop on Riverside drive for many years. Mr. Heinz was born Jan. 5, 1907, in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Tempe; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Mary Lou) Miller, of Scottsdale and a son, Otto, Jr., residing in Illinois.
