NEW DRIVER ^ REFRESHER COURSE IS SCHEDULED (Continued from page 1) taken in advance. This program is entering its third year of operation, (the first of its kind in the nation), and more than 12,000 Illinois senior citizens are graduates of the "Rules of the Road Review" courses. The courses give the older drivers con fidence in their driving abilities, and it educates them so they can perform suc cessfully on the written- renewal test. Most senior citizens learned to drive before there was an Illinois driver's license law, and while they are experienced and cautious, many lack up-to- date knowledge of the law, the recognition of the newer signs and symbols, and the con fidence of those who have taken a driver education course. Age is no disqualification. According to Secretary of State Michael Howlett, his office has never heard of a graduate of the reviewer course failing the license renewal test. Kenneth S. Bowsher, 2620 West Emerald court, should be contacted to register. TOP FAIR HONORS TO AREA YOUTHS (Continued from page 1) McHenry, top special Bicen tennial class.
