Bill Mauck brings to his performance as Ernest Hemingway an exciting per sonal background. Mauck was born in Honolulu. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor he joined the Merchant Marines and was almost immediately selected to represent the "typical" Merchant Seaman for a series of documentary films. These films were written and produced by the award winning movie script writer, Robert Russell. After his discharge from the service Mauck attended the American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York. In 1973, while recovering from a serious illness, he became fascinated with the life and writing of Ernest Hemingway. He wrote and produced a one- man play for the Tribute to Hemingway committee of Oak Park on the occasion of the Nobel Prize winning author's seventy-fifth anniversary. The play was an instant success. It is entertaining, authentic and Mauck's startling resemblance to Hemingway all contribute to the many requests for repeat performances. Ernest Hemingway lived life in hand-to-hand combat with death -with joy and gusto. Hemingway fought mankind's common enemy. "That Day In July" tells his story and his final destruction by the ancient adversary, death. Bill Mauck, with incredible insight, cap tures the mood of Hemingway. The residents of the College district are all invited to attend this moving performance in the student lounge. It is free to the public. This is one of many speakers who will be on campus this Fall. £ TAX FACTS A new guide to cover reporting of unrelated business income by religious, philan thropic, and other organizations exempt from federal income taxes, is available, the Internal Revenue Service announced today.
