Refresh ments and dancing will follow the meeting. First time visitors are requested to attend the orientation session at 8 p.m., before the panel discussion at the general meeting. Refreshments were served and the membership enjoyed a social time. JOHN MOSIMjtN As a performing artist, John Mosiman will appear at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Zion Lutheran church. The program is sponsored by the Zion Ladies aid. Mosiman, born in Elgin, lived in South America for ten years after completing his college studies. It was in Ecuador that he discovered the close relationship between music and art, and he began UfHevelop the techniques he uses now of creating large paintings while drawing in rhythm to syn chronized orchestral sound tracks and lighting effects. When he returned to North America, he intended to teach art and perform his "Musical Pain tings" as the demand arose. The response was so great that within one year he was dedicating all of his time to the performances. The artist has been ap pearing before audiences throughout the midwest and from coast to coast. His engagements have taken him to seven foreign countries. Although Mosiman holds a Master's degree in Art, his program is designed for the average person who has no art background. The scenes in his paintings have universal ap peal; his repertoire includes landscapes and music from around the world and subjects from stage plays, films and literature as well as events from the life of Christ. The paintings included in his program on Sept. 26 ire Creation, the Mayflower, fend the Resurrection of Lazarus. Koehn exchanged the vows of marriage with Lester R. Graham at Zion Lutheran church' Saturday, Sept.v 18. The 3 o'clock ceremony was blessed by the Rev. Herman Graef at an altar decorated with bouquets of pink and white gladioli, snap dragons and carnations. Musical selections included the "Lord's Prayer" and the "Wedding Song". The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A. Koehn, 414 S. Crystal Lake road, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graham, 8304 S. Pingree, Algonquin. The bridal gown was of white organza in A-line styling with a high collar, empire bodice and cathedral train, trimmed with Alencon lace. Scalloped lace was featured above the flounce hem. Her fingertip veil was of alencon lace and she carried a bouquet of pink and white tea roses with baby's breath. Pam Bacon of McHenry attended her friend as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Colleen Collins and Donna Broederdorf, both of Crystal Lake, and Marilyn Haydam of Volo, all friends of the bride. The attendants wore gowns of pink floral print cotton, in A- line styling with empire bodice, ruffled flounce hem and lace trimmed jackets with butterfly sleeves. The headpieces con sisted of four tea roses surrounded by baby's breath. Each carried a matching bouquet of four tea roses surrounded by baby's breath. The groom was attended by Fred Stoerp, Jr., of Union as best man. Groomsmen were Ronald Koehn of McHenry, the bride's brother, James Broederdorf of Cary and John Broederdorf of Crystal Lake. The bride's mother wore a long print dress in shades of lilac, burgandy and pink with a long-sleeved jacket while Mrs. Graham chose a floor length dress of pink with a long- sleeved lace jacket. Two hundred and forty guests feted the couple at Martinetti's restaurant, Crystal Lake, following the ceremony. The groom's sister, Joy Fim of Monmouth, Or., made and decorated the wedding cake. The bride is a 1969 graduate of McHenry high school and is employed as an office clerk for Baxter Travenol in Round, Lake. The groom graduated from Crystal Lake high school in 1968 and is a farmer. The couple plan to make their home in Crystal Lake. MR. AND MRS. DALE MARZANO WISCONSIN WEDDING - Dale Marzano, formerly of McHenry, claimed Rosemarie Murphy as his bride during a nuptial Mass at St. John's Catholic church, Twin Lakes, Wi. The ceremony took place Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Murphy of Twin Lakes, Wi., and the groom's parents are Anthony Marzano and Mrs. Earline Davis. A reception was held at Andre's in Richmond. Following a honeymoon trip, the couple will make their home in McHenry. PHOTOGRAPHY BY GAYLORD Friendship Club Opens Season With Potluck When Pastor Smith offered grace at the recent pot-luck dinner of the Friendship club of the First United Methodist church, there were fifty members in attendance. Members were reminded of the Fall bazaar and "Luncheon is Served" Wednesday, Oct. 20th by the United Methodist Women. The bazaar will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and then from 1 to 4 p.m. The ladies are enthused about this event, and have many new and novel items to sell. Tickets are available from circle chair persons, or by calling the church office. Bernice and Don Corby were in charge of the program for the evening, and it was a most enjoyable one. Yvonne and Bill Wilson, who have given several programs for the group, showed their pictures of the Gaspe Peninsula, which were very beautiful. After a delicious dinner, President Morris Crouch called the meeting to order, and welcoming the membership, particularly new members, Norma and Frank Pieplow, No.' 41 on the roster. Lilah Jordan made a report • on the all church rummage sale Sept . 10 and 11, which was financially quite successful. Esther Sims' meditations included "The Quiet People" from Guideposts Magazine; also a poem "Step by Step". A1 Mullere and Morris provided a light note with their jokes. Everyone was happy Frances Vycital was able to attend, as she was due to leave McHenry Sept. 22 to take up permanent residence in Flordia. A get-well card was signed by all present for Elsie Reiker who is in the hospital and recovering from surgery. The next meeting of the Friendship club will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. in the church dining room. Cleda and Leonard McCracken will have the program. Senior Citizens Look Forward To Smorgasbord President Chester Conrad called the McHenry Senior Citzens Club Meeting to order on Monday, Sept. 13, with 198 in attendance. Mrs. Anne Reh- Tinger reported that tickets for the smorgasbord dinner Sept. 27 are going fast, and should be purchased immediately as seating is limited and all tickets must be sold on a first- come, first-served basis. Dinner will be at 6:30 and the program begins about 7:45. The Executive committee members were reminded that in October the gieeting would be Thursday, Oct. 7, at 3:30 p.m., at Landmark school. Koland Grayson, Loop Bus Tour chairman, reported there was quite a number of reser vations still available for the Oct. 13 bus trip. He also siad the Nov. 10 Loop bus trip will be the last "bonus" trip of this year. The bus will make a stop on the way home at the Sara Lee Bakeries at Deerfield. On Thursday, Oct. 7, the Bus- Lunch-Theater trip to Shady Lane at Marengo has a departure time from the McHenry Savings & Loan Association parking lot of 10:45 a.m. The Oct. 27 tour group will leave the McHenry State Bank parking lot at 11:45 a.m., with luncheon, then to Seven Acres museum at Union, and also the McHenry County museum. Contact Mrs. Giel at once to make reservations for this trip. Mr . Doerr will give more information at the next meeting on the November tour through the United States Steel com pany's South Works plant, 89th street in Chicago, telling the proper type of shoes to wear for safety, and giving time of bus departure. The date of this tour is Nov. 17 and it will be about a three-hour plant tour. All reservations are filled. N e w b o w l e r s a r e Married Alumni Couples Of PWP Guest Speakers Members of the Pistakee Highlands Woman's club are busy preparing for their first meeting to be held Sept. 29 at the Pistakee Highlands Community center at 8 o'clock. The program will be a film on the origin of Uncle Sam , titled "The Man and the Legend". Anyone interested in joining this worthwhile organization may do so at this meeting or call Mrs. Harold (Beverly) Bichler or Mrs. Craig (Gloria) Thoren. New officers for this year are Beverly Bichler, president; Jean Wilkensen, vice- president; Jean Korinko, secretary; and Davi Koorasigh, treasurer. They will be installed at the Sept. 29 meeting by Mrs. Albert Stilling, fourth district president. The Woman's club was presented with a trophy for sponsoring a team in the Johnsburg Pigtail league. The presentation was made at the Pigtail league picnic Aug. 14. The recent Woman's club picnic for members and their children was held at Wooster Lake park in Ingleside.
