They par­ ticipate in a variety of ac­ tivities which are planned at the monthly meetings such as dances, parties, bowling, roller skating, etc. The club also attends plays, visits interesting places and has barbeaues and picnics. Plan Card Party Oct. 7 Inspired with fine attendance at the season's opening meeting, Regent Bertilla Freund of Court Joyce Kilmer's Catholic Daughters briefed the members on the coming ac­ tivities as she gave them each a 1976-77 schedule. The next event is the evening card party on Oct. 7 at K.C.hall to which the public is cordially invited. "Convention" letters were read from the National and State Regents regarding court procedure changes and workshops. Oct. 21 is the anniversary of Court Joyce Kilmer No. 573, CDA. Two new members will be ceremoniously received into the court, namely Mrs. Martha Cossey and Mrs. Marian Longfield. Social chairlady for this new members reception night is Mary Jean Lahs on whose committee are Helen Grenkowitz, Ann Buschek, Theresa Van Buren, Ann Studin, Stella Graham, Ann Thennes and Theresa Freund. All women are cordially invited to participate. There is no membership for Church Women United; it is always open to everyone. Greenwood church is located at 4609 Greenwood road, Woodstock. Greenwood road continues north from Route 120 (going north from Woodstock) when that route turns east to McHenry. Child-care is provided. Coffee fellowships will be a part of the morning's program. President Mrs. Joseph (Libby) Podpora, may be called for answers to any questions. at the church. Luncheon will be served at noon. Tickets for the Luncheon are available from circle chairpersons or by calling the church office. The bazaar will open at 10 a.m., and will feature many very nice Christmas gift items, handwork of all types, Live Plants, Home Preserves, Bakery Goodies, and many new and novel things. The bazaar sales will be halted during the lunch hour, but will resume again at 1 p.m. and continue until 4 p.m., or as long as there are customers to be served. The fall bazaar and luncheon is an annual event and the Circle Members work many, many months in preparation for this sale. The next meeting of the circle will be on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Cleda McCracken and Helen Lundy will be the hostesses. SCHULTZ GOLDEN YEAR -- Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Schultz of Sturgeon Bay, Wi., were recently feted at a sit-down dinner with sixty friends and relatives in attendance. St. Patrick's church hall was the scene for ihe gathering hosted by the couple's four children, Mrs. Leon (Judy) Schmitt of McHenry; Bill of St. Louis, Mo.; Bob of Wheeling and Ed of Arlington Heights. All of the Schultzes' twenty six grandchildren were able to attend the party. Mr. and Mrs. Schultz were married in St. Peter's Catholic church, Chicago, July 31, 1926 and have made their home in Wisconsin for the past eight years. ROSEMARIE MAY PLAN JUNE WEDDING - Mrs. Irene May, 1720 W. Church street, l\Jc Henry, announces the engagement of her daughter, Rosemarie, 10 Joseph C. Wagner, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wagner, 542 W. Rand road, McHenry. Rosemarie is the daughter of the late Alfred J. May. She is a 1975 graduate of Marian Central high school and is employed locally. Joseph is a 1974 graduate of Marian Central and is employed with his father. A June 25, 1977, wedding date has been set. APPLE CORPS. ORCHARD IMS Ckaritt U. - Families Of Bridal Couple Attend At Mass Prior to the exchange of the vows uniting them in marriage, Lori Peterson and Stanley J. Jastrzab were escorted to the altar of St. Mary's Catholic church by both of their parents. The entire families of the bride and groom participated in some way during the nuptial Mass held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 o'clock with the Rev. William Schwartz officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peter­ son, 718 Country Club drive, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Jastrzab, 2718 N. Albany, Chicago. The bride wore a white full length gown with train and a full length Mantilla veil trimmed in hand-worked lace. Maid of honor to the bride was Taina Olsen with Susan Hoelter, Nancy Peterson and 'im Jergans as bridesmaids. A sister of the bride, Dori Peterson, was junior bridesmaid. Kari Peterson, sister of the bride, and Alayne Jastrzab, the groom's niece, were flower girls. The attendants were gowned in blue valour with sheer green ruffled capes with the flower girls in blue nylon dresses with blue and white lace coats. Arthur Lull attended the groom as best man while the groom's brother, Joseph Jastrzab; tne bride's brother, Donald Peterson, and Roger Keinz were groomsmen. The bride's mother wore a turquoise floral print with sheer pale green overdress while Mrs. Jastrzab chose an orange floral print with a chiffon coat. One hundred and fifty friends and relatives gathered for a wedding reception at the McHenry Country club following the ceremony. The couple will make their home in McHenry upon their return. The bride is a January, 1976, graduate of McHenry high school and is employed at McHenry hospital as a nurse's aide. The groom attended Prosser high school in Chicago and is a mechanic with Hertz. Invite Membership In County Young Sebre Whitings Married Forty Years Oct. 3 Mr. and Mrs. Sebre Whiting of 812 N. Center street, McHenry, will observe their fortieth wedding anniversary Sunday, Oct. 3. A Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at 11 o'clock at St. Patrick's church. At 3 p.m., a social hour followed by a buffet supper will be held in the church hall for members of their families. Mr. and Mrs. Whiting were married in St. Patrick s church Oct. 3, 1936, by the late Rev. William O'Rourke. They are the parents of five daughters, Mrs. Philip (Peggy) Hays. Mrs. William (Sandra) Stilling, Mrs. James (Nancy) Cwik, Mrs. Jerome (Joann) Jazak, and Mrs. John (Julie) Loppnow. The couple has eleven grandchildren. *• >"a v i >" ' MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM MICHAEL J AMIESON AUGUST WEDDING - St. Theresa's Catholic church in Palatine was the setting for the Saturday, Aug. 14, wedding of Christine Lea Koetter, daughter of Eldon Koetter, Mt. Prospect, and Mrs. Bonnie Ruzick, Palatine, and William Michael Jamieson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Jamieson of McHenry. A reception was held at the Turnberry Country club following the ceremony. A new home awaits the couple in Palatine upon their return from a honeymoon trip to Acapulco, Mexico. Church Women United CHURCH WOMEN UNITED PLAN FORUM ON WHOLENESS Church women in Lake Region will come together Friday morning, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Greenwood United Methodist church. The format for the program will be a Forum on Wholeness, when the women will plan together their Platform for a Global Society for the future. Guest leader, Barbara Hershberger of Harvey, is no stranger to the group. She led the annual meeting in January, 1975, and has served as area chairperson for Church Women United in Illinois. Mrs. Hershberger serves on the regional board of the Christian church in Illinois and Wisconsin; has held offices in the Harvey unit of church Women United, in the state, and presently in Chicago. She has been active in her local church in many capacities, in her local community of Harvey and the surrounding area. Some of her activities have included Human Relations Commission, League of Women Voters, Meals on Wheels. In addition to this busy volunteer schedule, Mrs. Hershberger also works part time at the local Orthepedic center, and is mother of three daughrers. The meeting Friday will begin promptly at 9 a.m. because there is much included in the schedule for a full NE Corner Queen Anne & Charles Fox Valley chapter of the N a t i o n a l S e c r e t a r i e s association announces that their annual 'Bosses' day luncheon will be open to all local secretaries and their bosses. The luncheon will take place at the Branded Steak House from Noon to 1 p.m. Wed­ nesday, Oct. 22. The Branded Steak House is located on Route 14 near Route 31 in Crystal Lake. Tickets for the luncheon for bosses and their secretaries can be purchased from any member of the Fox Valley NSA chapter or by contacting Peggy Clark at 459-5000 Extension 387. The luncheon will consist of a prime rib dinner with a champagne toast. Fairway drive, McHenry and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Nordholz, 1507 Freund avenue, McHenry. Sheryl M. Bauer, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor, while the best man was Mike Pedraza of Crystal Lake. A reception was held at Andre's in Richmond.
