The ZeeBees, co-leader in the North Suburban, won the game 33 to 12. The Warriors kicked off to the ZeeBees who returned the ball to their own 30 yard line. Shanazarian on a keeper raced to the 47 yd. line for a first down After an exchange of penalties, Shanazarian on another keep ran to the Warrior 22. A pass to Burroughs was complete on the 5. Taylor went to the 2, and then Shanazarian passed to Burroughs for the T.D. The PAT was no good with 7:12 remaining in the period. Useman brought the kickoff back to his own 42. Useman picked up a couple, and Miller's pass to Hurckes was good, inches from a first down. A Zion penalty gave the Warriors a first down. Moments later the ZeeBees recovered a Warrior fumble on the Warrior 43. Seconds later Amos Taylor broke loose for a 33 yard run for the T.D. The PAT was wide and the ZeeBees led 12 to 0 with 4:15 remaining in the first period. Mai returned the kickoff to the A.B. 42. After a Warrior first down, a pass interference penalty gave the Warriors another first down deep in Zion territory. Useman then ran 13 yds. for the T.D. and the PAT was no good and at 1:09 of the period the Warriors trailed 12 to 6 The Warriors generated a march on this touchdown drive, with Useman carrying the ball and Miller's passes to Hurckes and Mai providing most of the punch. The ZeeBees held the Warriors early in the second period and took over on their own 45. Hurckes intercepted a Z B pass deep in Warrior territory. Useman in two carries picked up a first down. Miller's pass to Hurckes was good for 8 and then Miller made the first down. A Warrior penalty set them back and they were forced to kick to the Z B. 40. Taylor then broke off tackle for 60 yards and another Z.B. touchdown. The PAT, Shanazarian to Lawler, was good for a 20 to 6 Z.B. lead with 5:05 remaining in the half. After the kickoff the Z.B.'s held and the Warriors kicked to the Z.B. 45. Zion then marched to the 15 where the Warriors dug in and held and took over the ball. Two plays later the half ended with the Warriors on the short end of a 20 to 6 score. Useman returned the kickoff to the Warrior 27. The Z.B.'s intercepted a pass on the Warrior 36 Two plays later Mike Barnes ran 33 yds. for the T D The PAT was no good and the Warriors trailed 26 to 6 with 9:33 left in the period. Two plays later Brian Milelr found Billy Hurckes all alone and hit him with a 59 yd. pass for the T.D. The PAT was no good and the ZeeBees lead 26 to 12 with 8:25 remaining in the third period. After the ZeeBees gained a couple of first downs, both teams went into the exchange of penalties and the Warrior took over, but could not gain the necessary yardage. A Z B fumble gave the Warriors new life on their own 44. The Z.B.'s held and Deener punted into the end zone. The ZeeBees began a march and got to the Warrior 30, where Taylor broke loose again He was surrounded by ORNAMENTAL IRON Railings-Columns Custom Fabricating Welding & Structural Frozen Pipe Thawing STEEL SALES ADAMS BROS. Miller's passes to Hurckes and Hoffman gave the Warriors a first down on the Z.B. 35. A pass interference penalty gave the Warriors a first down on the 19. Another penalty against the Z.B. bench gave the Warriors a first down on the 9 yard line. Still another Z.B penalty gave the Warriors the ball on the 4. The Warriors really looked like a ball team on this drive. Miller's passing and the cat ching of Hurckes, Mai and Hoffman made most of the yardage The Warriors could not penetrate the Zion defense and the Z.B.'s took over on the 16 A few moments later Billy Hurckes intercepted his third pass of the afternoon, and after a nice runback fumbled and the ZeeBees took over on the Warrior 40. The ZeeBees picked up a couple of first downs, but could not get into the end zone as time ran out and the Warriors walked off the field losing a tough 33 to 12 game. The Warriors showed a little more offense in this game. However, the defense went to sleep a couple of times and the long gainer hurt as the swift ZeeBee backs were able to take advantage and race long yardage for touchdowns. Both teams had their share of penalties, but the Warriors once they get their hands on an opponent, must not let them slip away for long yardage. This Friday they return to the friendly confines of McCracken Field, where they host the Mundelein Mustangs Kickoff is 8:00 p.m. MCHSFOOTBALL STATS V-S-F V-F/S V-F/S F-A/B Tue-Oct 12 el-Oct 13 TUur-Oct 14 Rushing carries yds GO V Useman 23 47 Sat-Oct 16 FH F-A/U Miller 8 -24 CC S;-.'
