Negotiations have recently been completed with a New York firm for the local presentation. The play has been scheduled for Nov. 5 and 6 at the high school auditorium. Although Agatha Christie is the author of many other hit plays, including the famous "Witness for the Prosecution," "The Mouse Trap" stands as her most successful to date, having smashed the all-time long-run record for the English stage. Set in the early years of this century by the musical "Che Chin Chow" with a run of 2,238 performances, "The Mousetrap" is now gunning for the American record of 3,224 performances held by "Life With Father." Miss Christie's mystery chiller opened in London in November, 1952, and is still running there, ap parently set like the bubbling brook, to go on forever. Prospective cast and production staff members attended a professional per formance of "The Mousetrap" at the Arlington Park Theatre where many of the thirty-three attending enjoyed an informal time following the performance with Kathryn Houghton who played "Mollie" in the play.
