Kimberly Hill, 11, daughter of Mrs. Nancy Stade, has been blind since birth and was the happy recipient of the Braille-writer purchased for her use by the monies raised by the Lion's club members through such efforts as Candy Day, etc. In addition to blind related programs, the group is responsible for an eye donor registry, Camp Lions for visually handicapped youngsters, eyeglasses sent overseas, and are planning to implement new programs. Kimberly is shown checking her typing by feeling the raised dots of the Braille alphabet punched out on her Braille- writer. Interested observers are Richard Mercure and Robert Steiner. With a (1,200,000 goal as their target, Lions will be on the streets of McHenry, Friday, Oct. 8, from sunrise to sunset. Dan Walker last week signed five bills passed by the special session of the legislature providing $50 million more in state aid to education this fiscal year and speeding up payments of money owed the state by large businesses to finance the ad ditional aid to education. Walker when he used his amendatory veto power to return a similar bill last month. me that it worked for his sister TO DYE OR NOT TO DYE DEAR TO DYE: Consult a hair beautician Don't let your boy friend convince you that you'll look more beautiful by neces sarily changing the color of your hair. DEAR TIRED: 1 usually don't approve of people who run to others with stories about people's problems, but in this case 1 think you were in the right. It sounds to me as if your sister has prob lems that require professional guidance. Your parents are the ones to help her get it If you had kept your mouth shut, they would have resented it when they found out what was going on from someone else Your sister will You'll probably think I'm a 22- year old tattletale but I want to see what you think of what 1 did I have a 20-year old sister who is what my sister says is a virtuous girl and my sister consented to continue sleeping with him because she feels sorry for him! She is now looking for an older man who will suppdrt her if she sleeps with him Also, she's had four jobs in one year because she says she doesn't like the people she work«> with 1 think it's because they don't like her The point to all this is that 1 told my parents the entire story and now my sister is threatening to make up a few wild stories about me to tell my parents I really don't care what she says about me because I lead a relatively nor mal life My sister thinks I'm jealous of her so called popu larity. Did I do the wrong thing by telling our folks9 I thought they should know, especially since they both asked me why I didn't like my sister and why I was moving out, of the apart ment we share TIRED OF LIES
