TO 6 P.M. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization formed to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. All candidate information included in this NONPARTISAN VOTERS GUIDE is compiled from questionnaires answered and signed by the candidates. In preparing this material/ the League of Women Voters neither endorses nor rejects the view of any candidate nor assumes responsibility for the content of the replies. The Guide was prepared through the cooperation of the Woodstock-McHenry League of Women. Voters and the McHenry Plaindealer, Woodstock Daily Sentinel, The Harvard Herald, The Marengo Beacon News and the League of Women Voters of Illinois and LWV of Lake County. All candidates certified by the State Board of Elections on September 2, 1976 were mailed questionnaires. These candidates' names will appear on ballots in the McHenry County Districts. Candidates who did not answer the questionnaire have "Did not reply" following their names. All other answers are in the candidates' own words and have been edited only because of space limitations, but the greatest care has been used to keep the spirit of the answers and to do no injustice to the candidate. Candidates are listed according to the ballot. Complete questionnaires are on file either in the office of the League of Women Voters of Illinois, 67 E. Madison St., Chicago 60603; Mrs. Sandy Millius, Woodstock-McHenry LVW President or Mrs. Thomas Carney, Lake Forest, Secretary LWV of Lake County. The League of Women Voters is open for membership to all citizens of voting age. For additional information, call Mrs. R. Davis(Moira) - 338 1679. How to use the Votamatic Machine After receiving your ballot card from the judges and entering the voting booth, insert your ballot card with both hands, the numbered side facing up, into the slot at the top of the ballot booklet (see illustration). Slide it gently down until the two holes on the stub fit over the plastic knobs. Starting at the beginning of the booklet, and using the at tached metal sty lus (NOT THE PENCIL! ) punch the hole next to the names of the candidates for whom you wish to vote. If you make a mistake, ask the judges for a new ballot. A judge will be happy to demonstrate the operation of the Votamatic on the demonstration machine in each precinct..
