Glen Mensing. Linda Brennan of Solon Mills attended her sister as maid of honor and Bob Stevens of Wonder Lake was the best man. Immediately following the wedding, a reception for twenty guests was held at Orsolini's in Richmond. A highlight of the festivities was a tiered cake made by Pat Rasch, friend of the bride. The bride graduated from Richmond-Burton Community high school and is employed in Richmond. The groom is a graduate of McHenry high school and works for Englewood Electric Supply, Crystal Lake. Pro-Life Hot Line Aided By- December Sale The McHenry chapter of the Illinois Citizens for Live (Pro- Life Hot Line) are planning a sale Saturday, Dec. 11, at Hornsby's. Mrs. Ronald E. (Barbara) Svoboda is very anxious to have many nice gift items to sell, which provides the public an opportunity to help a most worthy cause. Mrs. Svoboda should be contacted for further par­ ticulars, and to let her know what each person will be making for the sale. All proceeds from this project will be used by the Pro- Life Hot Line serving the McHenry area. MR. AND MRS. R. RISTOW WED 65 YEARS - Mr. and Mrs. R. Ristow celebrated their sixty- fifth wedding anniversary recently. A party was given for them by their daughter and son-in-law,' the M. Jacobs, at their place of business in Miramar, Fl. The Ristows were there for a vacation at the time of their anniversary. On the return flight home the pilot announced the occasion over the speaker and the couple received good wishes from everyone on the plane. When they arrived home they had received an anniversary card from President and Mrs. Ford as a surprise. The Ristows reside at 5613 Woodland, McHenry. Talk-Concert Feature Of Seniors' Meeting In the absence of President Chester Conrad, Vice- President Ralph Lockerbie called the McHenry Senior Citizens club meeting to order earlier this month with 129 members in attendance. They greatly enjoyed the program of the evening. Mrs. Ann Schwarz, program chairlady, introduced Harry Koenig, who began by telling how he learned he had cancer in 1969 and how he offered himself for experimental purposes. He recounted his experiences and his fortunate recovery after surgery. Mr. Koenig then gave a concert which everyone enjoyed. His piano talent is extraordinary, and he now has a program whereby he gives away records of his piano concerts for donations, all of which are given to the Harry Koenig Cancer Research foundation. He has dedicated himself to working for this research foundation as his thankfulness to God for his recovery. Many of the members donated to the cause and received his fine records. Frank Giel asked the Tuesday morning bowlers to be, at the lanes by 9:15 a.m. He invited all newcomers to the club to come out and enjoy the fun. John Doerr advised one bus is filled for the matinee of the "Nutcracker Suite" Dec. 29. However, if enough more are interested he will try to arrange for a second bus. Deadline is soon for tickets, so Mrs. Giel should be contacted im­ mediately by interested per­ sons. This production is at Arie Crown threater. The Dec. 8th bus to the Loop is filled. Mr. Lockerbie received in­ formation from Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sass regarding a federal grant for a Senior Citizens center in McHenry, and more information on this will be available probably at the next meeting. Tickets for the annual Christmas dinner and party are selling fast, and as seating is limited, all tickets are sold on a first-come - first-served basis. Reservations should be made with Mrs. Giel promptly. The next meeting of the club will be Monday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m., at East campus cafeteria, when the program will be given by the McHenry Choral club. Tickets for the Choral club's Christmas program will be available at this meeting from Mrs. Giel. The Executive committee's next meeting will be Monday, Dec. 6, at 3:30 p.m., at Land­ mark school. Seniors Invited To Lunch At Marian High are invited to visit the school after lunch. For further information, please call 338-4220. Marian Central high school is inviting all senior citizens to have lunch at Marian each Thursday and also for a special turkey dinner Wednesday, Nov. 24. They will be able to pur­ chase the Type A lunch, which includes a meat dish, vegetable, potatoes, salad, bread and butter, milk and a dessert, for a small fee. Also available on Thursday, but at a higher cost, will be a rib eye steak dinner consisting of baked potato with sour cream, steak, salad, vegetable, and bread and butter. Cadmus of Tanafly, New Jersey, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann, to Dirk Allen Voorhees, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voorhees of McHenry. Miss Cadmus will graduate from Hope college, Holland, Mi., in May, 1977, and will attend the graduate depart­ ment of Geological Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wa.
