We wonder how many persons really reflect on what or why we celebrate. We turned to our trusty dictionary . . . Thanksgiving: 1. Act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God. 2. An expression of thanks, especially to God. 3. A day set apart for giving thanks to God. 4. A public celebration in ack nowledgment of divine favor. Thanksgiving day, U.S., an annual festival in acknowledgment of divine favor usually held on the fourth Thursday of November. When you gather for your celebration this Thursday, whether in a small or large family group, turn and look around and really enjoy what you have and be thankful for all the good times, remindful of the bad times and thoughtful about the things we're going to im prove during the remainder of 1976 and through the New Year. Our very sincere Happy Thanksgivingwishes to you all! FIVE CANDLES! Andy Braun was the birthday boy at his home last Saturday and what a celebration was held to help Andy turn five years old. Fourteen children gathered at his home and enjoyed > delicious pizza-burgers in addition to scrumptious bir thday cake and creamy ice cream.' Party games were played and all the children brought home nice favors and had a wonderful fun-filled afternoon. Dad and Mom, Eon and Joyce, enjoyed watching an excited Andy open his many presents and were delighted all the children could join Andy for his birthday celebration. The children who sang the birthday song to Andy were, Ricky and Brian Glos, Michelle Braun, Sherry Wijas, Tina Pautz, Artie Schooley, Patty Treadwell, Russell and Kenny Henderson, Stephanie and Jennifer Worth, and Kevin, Brian and Suzi Moore. : "> li•>;.j CHRISTMAS DINNER Members of the Lakeland Park Women's club who would like to attend the club's annual Christmas party should note on their calendars that the special evening out is next Thursday, Dec. 2.
