Rt. 120 McHenry, III. 60050 815-385-8060 I N M E M 0 R I A M IN MEM0RIAM In loving memory of our dearest Son and Brother, Raymond Stilling, Jr. who passed away 7 years ago, December 11, 1969. He bid no one a last farewell, nor even said goodbye. He was gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. They say time heals all sorrows, and helps us to forget, but time so far has only proved how much we miss him yet. God gave us strength to face it, and the courage to face the blow, but what it meant to lose him, no one will ever know. Our hearts still ache with sadness, our eyes still shed many tears, God knows how much we miss him, at the end of 7 years. " All our love Mom, Dad. Renee, and Reechele 12-10 W o r k e r ' s E n e r g y ^ By Roberta Kankus The average American worker uses over 18 kilowatt- hours of electricity every hour on the job. That's as much as most families use in one day! If you work for a living, you should care whether there'll be enough electricity available to keep your lathe or computer going; or the lights in your office building. The answer is to build more nuclear power plants. Nuclear power is safe, and it's cheaper and environmentally cleaner than .oil--or coal burning plants. Nuclear power is a readily available source of energy the oil producing countries can't shut off The annual Christmas Seal campaign of the DuPage- McHenry Lung association, its principle source of income, is well under way with con tributions totaling nearly $85,000, according to M. Ken dall Bird, Crystal Lake, association president "Christmas Seal con tributions are running $2,000 to $3,000 ahead of this same date last year," Bird said, "and with returns reaching the Wood stock office long after the first of the year, we are confident of reaching our goal of $155,000". The Lung association will be able to expand its lung screening programs in industry and at other locations for the adult population, trying to detect cases of chronic ob structive lung illness. "We also are currently expanding our efforts in providing p r o f e s s i o n a l e d u c a t i o n , especially concerning asthma in children, as well as increase o u r f i n a n c i a l s u p p o r t o f medical research in the area of tuberculosis and other lung illnesses,' Bird said. The association employs a full time health education worker who devotes much of his time to public and parochial schools, providing class room presentations concerning anti- smoking education and air pollution information: Bird praised the retirees from local industries, members of McHenry County 8 et 40 salon, and the Hebron Service club, for helping the Lung association prepare its 45,000 C h r i s t m a s S e a l l e t t e r s f o r county residents and firms. Nearly 230 volunteer hours were required to get the job done. '/ * "The greatest pleasure in life is that of reading, while we are young."
