JANUARY 28. 1977 Spring Grove Eva Freund v/ 675-2135 Club Members Welcome Four At Meeting Four members were installed into the Lotus Country Women's club at their meeting Jan. 19 held in the town hall, Spring Grove. They were sworn in by repeating the pledge as read by Kay Smith, vice president. The installation ceremony was conducted by Eva Freund as a welcome was extended to Esther Rinda, Virginia Castady, Dorothy Vlink and Marge Hogan. The corresponding secretary read an invitation from the McHenry Women's club to the»r Reciprocity day meeting to be held at VFW hall, McHenry Feb. 10. Home Life chairman of District No 4 invited the club's Home Life chairman to attend a meeting in Woodstock Jan 21 at 1 p.m to plan a "Talent Craft show Parliamentarian Kay Smith and committee members Frances Heinemann and Jean Lay will work on the revision of by-laws. A motion was made and approved that a donation will be made towards the planting of trees in the Harrisburg, 111., forest. Kay Smith reported that baskets were distributed to the needy for Christmas. The club voted on choosing a "Woman of the Year". Nomination and voting for one each month with th^woman of the year chosen from this group. There was some discussion about having an amateur hour show to be presented by club members in the Spring. The luncheon served was enjoyed by thirty members and vone guest. The next meeting will be Feb. 16. There will be a display of arts and crafts and a white elephant sale. CHRISTIAN MOTHERS MEET A prayer and pledge of allegiance to the flag opened the meeting for the twenty members and one guest who attended the meeting in the parish hall. President Dolores May presided and secretary Catherine Kagan gave an in­ teresting report on Christmas. The publicity chairman stated that February is Catholic Press month and u^ged all to subscribe to the Observer, the Diocesan paper. A Mass v^ill be offered for Father Edward Lehman, former pastor who passed away Jan 14 A meeting will be held in February to make plans for the St. Patrick's day card party which will be on Mar. 16. There will be a Father-Son breakfast Feb. 20 after nine o'clock Mass in the hall served by the Christian Mothers. The next meeting is Feb. 17.
