Our rivers and our lakes are polluted, and the cost of living is astronomical with inflation sweeping through the land . tod1 much apathy . dwindling hope. AH of this makes a miserable picture. Are we going to let it go at that? Apathy is the nasty word. Apathy about ourselves, about our government, about our future, about our church. Insidious apathy which works like a cancer, destroying. Are we going to settle for it? Or are we going to start in our own town, our own home, our own church, and do something about it? Why not listen to those bells next Sunday? At Riverside Hair Styling, 2020 W. Rt. 120, a front door was broken to gain en trance and the intruders made away with about $100. In two other places, the burglars evidently gave vent to their frustration over finding little money by committing van dalism. At Fury Motors, they broke a cash register, found no bills and then left a large amount of change. They broke a windshield on one car, put the parts room in a state of disarray and broke another window. The McHenry School of Beauty Culture experienced similar vandalism when the burglars failed to find more than about two dollars in money. Wigs and cosmetics were sprayed with a fire ex tinguisher and all locked doors were broken. A New Year's night burglary had netted in truders a large amount of cash.
