Dr. Fike graduated from Michigan State university in 1940, practiced in Lowell, Ind., for one year, then came to Dundee Dr. Fike was in­ strumental in helping develop the system of shipping semen to other parts of the country when artificial insemination was in its infancy. This was the beginning of ABS, well known throughout the U.S. Dr. Fike and wife, Cynthia, moved to McHenry in 1943, raised a family of two girls and one boy, and was in general practice until his retirement in 1974.
