Guidelines laid down by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) state that fish with PCBs in excess of 5 parts per million should be regarded as unfit for human consumption. Five of nine samples of Lake Michigan salmon recently tested showed amounts ex ceeding the 5 parts per million guidelines. In Triplicate While sightseeing in Washing ton, one tourist complained that the writing on the bathroom walls was always in triplicate By Dick Rabbitt The Woodstock "Blue Streaks" avenged two previous losses to Grant and won the big one Friday night at McHenry 68 to 50. The win puts the Streaks in Rockford Wednesday night against Rockford Boylan. an upset victor over Harlem. In the Friday night game the Streaks started out like they were shot from guns, and for only a short lapse in the third period played like world beaters. Hitting on their first three shots the Streaks went out into an early 6 to 0 lead and as Grant had troubles with the lid on the basket, increased their margin to a startling 15 to 5 first period lead. By this time the gym was rocking from the roar of the Woodstock fans. Continuing their onslaught, the Streaks, again hitting from far and near, built up a 25 to 6 margin at the 4:30 mark of the second period. All of this with stars Genot and Horner sitting on the bench with two fouls. Near the end of the second period. Grant began to get their attack under way and whittled down the lead to a respectful 9 point deficit at halftime 29 to 20. ' In the early going of third period after the Streaks broke away with 2 quick baskets. Grant again began to nip away at the Streak lead, and with 2:30 remaining were just trailing by three 37 to 34. However, Woodstock didn't fold under the constant pressure and went into the final eight minutes with a 42 to 38 lead. At this time almost everyone in the gym thought that the Bulldogs would really begin to make their move. However, the Streaks had no intention of letting anything like that happen to them at this time. GENOTTAKESOVER In the final period Ron Genot Woodstock's "Mr. Everything" took complete control of the game. The husky 6'4" senior center, who up to this point had one basket and three rebounds to show for the evening, showed why he is a talented athlete Shooting and rebounding the young lad had 12 important points in the final period as Woodstock completely ran the Bulldogs ragged in the final quarter Genot's six clutch free throw s in the final period showed that he is also a pressure player Credit must be given to all the Blue Streaks They played a whale of a game They shot at a 71 percent clip, hitting 29 out of 41. while the poor Bulldogs made 20 out of 74 for a poor shooting average. It was the Streaks first regional win since 1937. so after 40 years they richly deserve it Coach Jack Brenegan was a most happy coach after the game. > He told me. "We came to play tonight. Grant had defeated us twice during the season". He also added. "It may be an upset to many, but to me no way, I thought we would win " It wasn't the same Woodstock club that beat our Warriors on Wednesday Anytime you can shoot 71 percent, you are going to be tough to beat With Mundelein losing to Round Lake, Barrington is the only North Suburban entry into the Rockford Sectional Tuesday.
